It’s true that I haven’t been well at all, and my last round of treatments did take more out of me than usual. I’m now a little better and stronger than I was a month ago (and am even swallowing/eating/drinking relatively normally again). None of this is related to my continued silence here.

Apart from “thanking” a few posts and “reporting” a very few, I stopped participating in the forum a month ago, following a difference of opinion - and protracted conversation discussing it - with the moderators about the acceptability here of a fellow-member’s signature-file which links to a page containing both flagrant breaches of my copyright (by no stretch of the imagination “fair use”, according to my lawyer) and open personal attacks against a few Warriors - principally myself. That page also contains a link to a “Warrior hate site” - the usual sort of crap by which of course many of us have had our stomachs turned before. Even one of the moderators with whom I discussed it freely referred to the page linked-to in the signature-file here (though not to the signature-file itself) as “disgusting”, yet they unyieldingly refuse to remove/disallow the signature-file.

I offer this very brief and superficial explanation now just so that nobody imagines I’ve died, or abandoned friends here without reason: I’m just not willing to participate where I’m so offensively attacked and my integrity’s publicly impugned, albeit via a signature-file.

It was fellow-members who originally brought this matter to my attention in the first place, for which I’m grateful. They and I are dismayed and astonished by the forum’s apparently intransigent determination to retain on the board a so-easily-removable link to a page which contains such personal attacks. Anyway, the forum will have to do so without me.

I’m gradually getting used to some of the hostility and resentment to which being young, female and visibly successful can give rise, but I still have the right to participate (or not) wherever I want, and - reluctant though I am to allow such blatant trolling to influence my own activities - everyone has limits.

Even without discussion of the forum’s “first rule” (of which there was actually a lot), I and others anticipated that common decency alone would immediately resolve this issue. We were all entirely mistaken about that.

(I do read and reply to private messages here, which I don‘t regard as “open participation”.)

This has everything to do with someone snapping and suffering from mental illness, a stalker and hacker, someone who has a penchant for violence and is considered dangerous. The police are offering their services and are cruising by regularly as they want nothing more than to, and I quote "get this b@st@rd!"

Death threats are quite unnerving and scary but I'm in good hands, you just have to trust me on this one.

We'll be okay, it's just a matter of time.

Alexa, it doesn't take much for any one of us to be attacked.
there are people from this forum and other forums who think nothing of attacking you based on something you might have posted online somewhere that offended someone or they see you as a threat somehow - and then they start digging into your life - looking up old sites of yours, looking up previous contact info, often making incorrect assumptions based on the info found.

I believe it is way more prudent to do things "under the radar" - not because I'm afraid - but because it's smarter -
you taking a break from this forum and for the reasons you posted is, I think, the best thing to do, and I totally get it - though it saddens me.
