In a recent report by Adrienne Hill on NPR’s Marketplace, Americans give more to charities, per capita, than any other developed country. In 2011, we gave $200 billion dollars.

    David Icke talks about this, I recommend looking him up. He also says the organizations you think are preventing or helping something are the ones who actually keep it going o.O

      Yeah, I almost responded here, but I should have said one thing, and you said it. There are organizations that promise peace and create war. They say they want to get rid of poverty, and get rich creating it. They say they want to keep the US a great country and work to destroy it. They want to help christianity, and actually try to get rid of it. etc...

      You REALLY can't listen to their name, or even their sales spiel or "mission statement". You have to look at what they actually do, and what they actually support. If everyone did that, people would be richer and happier, and the problems they CLAIM to tackle would actually be at least MITIGATED!

      Many "charities" are nothing more than salepeople that have taken on a specialty for that part of their "business"! So they have to pay for all the sales materials, office expenses, actual workers, etc...., and take a hefty cut for themselves, before MAYBE giving a bit of it to some hopefully REAL charity that makes it APPEAR legit.

      Icke also believes human beings are the product of a breeding program by shape-shifting aliens from the 4th dimension.

      That doesn't mean all his ideas are wrong, but to me, it does mean every word he says should be treated with a great degree of skepticism.

          Yes indeed, as with everything.

          I haven't read that book, I don't read much fiction, but I do know a little about Sitchin.
          Sitchin's ideas have been rejected by scientists and academics, who dismiss his work as pseudoscience and pseudohistory. His work has been criticized for flawed methodology and mistranslations of ancient texts as well as for incorrect astronomical and scientific claims.

          Then why waste their time with Earth when there are asteroids with far more gold than Earth has, and it would be much easier for them to mine?

              I agree. I believe this is the path NASA should take.

              I read about a concept where we send unmanned space ships to asteroids containing precious metals and minerals, and use them to tow the asteroids back to the orbit of the moon.

              Since the moon has much less gravity and no atmosphere, it is much easier to launch into space and return to the moon than to Earth. The asteroids would be processed on the moon, then sent to Earth from there.

              Gold and precious metals have stimulated exploration on Earth throughout history. The same will be true in our future. And with a plan similar to this, NASA could fund itself through the sale of the precious metals while continuing to make scientific advancements.

        Don't you love it? To the best of MY knowledge, there is NO proof of a 4th dimension, or aliens, or anything that can shape shift in the SCI-FI meaning of the word, or of a sentient being replacing the "intelligence" of another creature. It is all just something imagined. There ARE, however, people that seem to think that ALL of the above are commonly happening. OH, I believe they are generally supposed to be REPTILES ALSO!

        Still, even most of the most insane people have SOME sane thoughts.
