    What about pricing?

Can you make your biz model work for a larger front-end price? So that the first DVD is your real profit. Then offer copies for a nominal fee. More like a customer service charge. It is still a little extra, but small enough charge that people will pay. Because most people won't go to the trouble if you're providing copies for them at a cheap price.

    What about social promotion?

You could also use your copy service as a listbuilding effort. Advertise you'll make a free copy per person (or something) in exchange for them opting in to your list. And you've got a customer now you can send advertisements to. Hopefully remembering you when they need.
