added a new part to my website

Morning all,

I've been trying to add something to my website that would attract people to visit my site on a daily basis, rather than 1 or 2 posts per week. Its my family site so the goal is not so I earn money, but rather because its fun to share and hear other people. I'd like to know who people feel about this idea.
In my forum I added a "thought of the day", relating to family. Its nothing fancy, maybe just something that pops into my head at some point. The idea is people would pop in to check it out, add their own thoughts, contribute and get some good conversations going.
Please le me know what you think. If you go on my site and go on the forum thee is a link for it. I just put it up so there are only 2 "thoughts" posted.

    I think you need to "cute-up" your website. For a start, the picture in your banner looks like the shadows of two very sharp-looking gardening implements rather than a set of twins. You should have a pic there of your twins looking as adorable as possible. Other parents, women especially, love that sort of thing. Plus it will generate lots of comments, which is what you want.

    The writing style doesn't suit the subject matter. It's way too serious and prosaic. I'm not saying you should never look at the serious side of raising twins, but what about the light, funny, ironic side? I don't see much of that on your site, even though I haven't had time to give it a good going over. Believe me, it's the light, funny, ironic side, the heartwarming side, to raising twins that's going to bring people to your site and keep them coming back.
