As part of my motivation

I have just started a keep fit plan because working as an online marketer is about as healthy lifestyle wise as being a cab driver. So it's jogging every other day and some light weights on the other days.

Apart from losing a few pounds which I have to keep in order because I am diabetic, I also find it focuses the mind. I am having some personal issues right now and sometimes I sit in front of the screen and just can't seem to focus. Doing some exercise seems to sharpen the mind.

Anybody else include a fitness plan in their weekly schedule?

Can't focus? Get your Vitamin D and B12 levels checked. That's what most of IM people experience because the only source of getting Vitamin D is sun exposure for 20-30 minutes a day.

I was in the same boat, scared the hell out of me....worked out a fitness plan, been working on it for over 8 months....feels rejuvenated and also helps me increase productivity.

That forum --> Mind Warriors - Success, Power, Self-Improvement

Or that forum ---> The Off Topic Forum

    But not this forum.

My word there is always someone who cares about what part of the forum a post is on. Not exactly going to do any real damage is it? Especially as it is connected to what us full time marketers do to ease the burden of being sat behind a screen for hours on end.

I live in the Pyrenees so vitamin D is not a problem.

Another thing I have started to do is work for 50 minutes and have a walk about for 10. That seems to help a bit as well.

      Yep. The mods.

      2. Post in the appropriate section of the board. Questions about SEO or posts asking for advice on specific products belong in other areas. Not Main Discussion. Post them here and they're more likely to be deleted than moved.

Maybe not. But rules are rules.

Yep! I find getting in exercise is essential for me. It helps me focus, keeps me healthy, and gives me something to do when I need a break.

Andy, try the Atkins Diet. I'm on it and seriously, it changed my life. That's not an overstatement. It gave me back my focus and my energy. I discovered that my blood sugar was spiking all over the place during the day when I was eating all that sugar and processed crap most people eat. Get on Atkins and within a few days you won't believe the difference (if roller coaster blood sugar is an issue for you).

I've been doing a fairly similar thing called LCHF, and yep, tons more energy, a few inches lost round the middle, no carb cravings and lower sugar readings. There's loads of research to support it. You can find out more about it here: Diet doctor.

As for the exercise, I was going out every day for a short walk, but as soon as winter arrived stopped

So need to start again, as even after 2 or 3 weeks it was making a difference - walking in general became easier and less of a chore and it was refreshing and energizing. It's so easy to just sit at the pc and not move. No excuse either as I'm about 5 minutes walk from a wood with lots of footpaths and the chance to see wildlife (it was a red squirrel last time).

Good luck with your new plan Andy, I hope it helps with the issues you mention.
