    zzzzzzzz

People have been trying to say what the article says for, what, forty years. "Objectifying women" has survived all stages of the modern manifestation of the "women's liberation" movement. Despite all attempts to redefine it, sex still sells despite whatever you might read in obscure political outlets.

Yes it does but maybe not at trade shows as the article alleges with data from someone who probably knows trade shows a lot better than you.

I go to a few trade shows in the UK.

Hey, it's great to see the attractive girls walking around handing out fliers... but as a marketing man it's just far too obvious as to what they're trying to achieve.

Unless the business they're promoting has a great offer, or I can help them, I will steer clear.

It's just hired eye candy really.

One test does not a conclusion make.

I bet this test would provide a completely different result at a comicon.

Determine your target market and plan accordingly.

There are lies, damned lies, and then statistics. But we don't even have statistics here - Read carefully, or maybe I missed the numbers, but how is this proof of anything?

"The booth that was staffed with the booth babes generated a third of the foot traffic (as measured by conversations or demos with our reps) and less than half the leads (as measured by a badge swipe or a completed contact form)," Chen explains, "while the other team had a consistently packed booth that ultimately generated over 550 leads, over triple from the previous year."
