I've read so many books over the years I've just lost track of them. I bought a book the other day, got all ready for a great read before bed, opened the book, read three pages and remembered the whole story. heavy sigh. What a disappointment.

No, that's never happened to me. But I suspect you've probably read a lot more books than I have. Although I do plan to catch up.

History, ancient history, is my current genre of choice. I'll be tackling Gibbons' masterful Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire soon. I've taken up jogging so I'll be fit enough to cope with his exhausting prose.

I hate when that happens! I've done that quite a few times.

    I haven't. I remember everything I've read, said, and done. I'm perfect.

I'm also extraordinarily self-deluded, but everyone has a minor peccadillo or two.

OK, seriously, I've probably haven't done that. I tend to utilize the library, and then go buy the best books for my personal library. I've ended up checking the same book out of the library more than once though, only to crack it open and be disappointed that I've read it before. Same thing only it didn't cost anything.

It didn't cost me much, Dennis. I try to get books second hand, then if they don't have what I want I go get it new. Sometimes that backfires on me, just like last night. Other times I enjoy books for almost free.

I've had that happen before. I don't know what bothers me more....

    1. Reading something that you find you read before.
    2. Reading something and finding it is somehow different from wat it should be, etc...
    3. Reading something that is like the OPPOSITE of what it claims to be.

And don't worry about the duplication. Look at agatha christies 10 little indians. It must have like 3 different titles, and at least 2 different endings! I thought the old movie was the most plausible though.
