Does this help you relax?

I stumbled on this technique totally by accident, but it turns out to work. At least for me.

If I close my eyes and visualize myself as being relaxed, I immediately start feeling more relaxed. Good to know, I think.

Anyone else care to try it and report on results?

When I want to relax I just do it. It's the Nike technique!

When I close my eyes I visualise spots before them, with an occasional pink elephant. When I open them I immediately start feeling more relaxed.

You live with an occasional pink elephant that can visualize spots?

The only time I close my eyes I open them again and inexplicably have experienced 7 to 8 hours of lost time? this only happens at night.

I'm thinking I may be experiencing regular abductions, possibly from alien pink elephants.

Hopeless -- that's a method that I learned to use to open up my lungs when I felt an asthma attack coming on.

    Makes sense.

Relaxation is a feeling state as is any other condition such as anger, joy, sadness etc.

In fact, life is a feeling state that we have learned to think/talk about and so taking us another step further from the actual experience.

Lifting weights works pretty well for me. I suppose I get a bit more pumped up than relaxed while I'm doing it but afterwards I find it pretty easy to chill out.

It's a great way to get out some pent up aggravation too.
