Why I have decided to start internet marketing

Hi guys, i saw another post from somebody just starting out with internet marketing and thought i would give you my reasons as to why i have decided it is the path for me!

I became ill with kidney failure last year and have been on dialysis since which meant that i lost my job in sales and have struggled to find work that i can do since.

Internet marketing means that i can work from home and also from hospital when i need to and my aim is to be able to earn £5000 a month by the end of the year. I think this should be doable as i have been doing a lot of research as well as experimenting.

My next plan is to learn the best seo techniques by looking through this forum and asking advice (sorry guys) as well as using blogs i have set up to experiment with different techniques.

So far i am yet to make any money from my blogs but i havent really put into practice any of the techniques i have learnt.

How long did it take for you guys to start earning? and how much did you spend initially when you started out?

Hi Chris, I hope your health and finances continue to improve. I believe that after every difficulty comes relief. I am a newbie seeking information and mentoring also relating to internet marketing. I have been researching for some time now and, of course, there is such an abundance of information and ideas it is difficult to determine precisely where to start -- i.e. the ABC's of internet marketing with results versus promises. I hope you receive the best advice and have the best outcome!

Welcome aboard! I'm a relatively new guy to the forum, but I've been in and out of the IM game for 6 years. I know what it's like to let failure win.

    It sucks.

You get all sensitive and hurt, and nothing changes... Worse, You still gotta clock in Monday morning and face your A** of a boss.

Recent developements have come into place which have increased my motivation ten fold, and I have made it further and in less time.

Stay focused, Stay positive, and learn from every failure. Don't be a sissy like I used to be and submit to failure (which you will encounter before you are successful.)

I found it very helpful to write down all my long term goals, (house, lifestyle, car, income etc..) wrote down why I wanna do IM (like really think. Like make some green tea, light candles on a yoga mat, and turn on the droning flute music.. Ok, not that involved, but you get the point.)

I wrote down a few other things such as what would life would be like on a day to day basis if I no longer as a boss to answer to.

I read it everyday, before I sit down on my computer to work.

I laugh with failure now. Failure is my friend. Failure is my mentor to success.

Sorry if my post is scatterbrained, the day was terribly long and I'm burnt out lol.

You made the right choice. IM is not so stressful as many regular/offline jobs, besides, as you said, you will work from home...

I guess you will need to learn first some basics, so investing money in knowledge should be a way to go. With time you will get a feel for IM and it will be much easier.

    Take care!

Good luck with everything you have going on.

When I first started, I submitted a few articles to EZA with a link going to a squidoo lens I set up.....on the squidoo lens I reviewed 5 or so products I was very knowledgeable about and got a few sales within in a day or so.....all that cost me was my time.

Obviously that was a long time ago and things have changed now but thats how I got started.

As for questions, use the search function and if you don't find the answers you are looking for, just fire away on here and I'm sure people will be quick to offer their advice.
