Hi! This is going to be my first personal post since being in this forum at the start of Feb. 2014. I hope I posted in the right place. :p If not, please feel free to move it. Thanks!

Warning: This is a boatload of text, so be warned. Though, I can promise that it threads together when read in order. I hope you'll have the patience.

Anyway, as in any forums, an introduction is necessary. Hope this doesn't bore you.

Introduction (you can skip, if you like)
My name is Angeline and I am a licensed Chemist by education in the Philippines who concentrated on research and development (more on innovations), yet, due to personal and familial circumstances, was not able to practice this field at all. Then I became a call center agent, mostly for technical companies, and I did this purely for the money (my mom was sick with cancer at the time, RIP Mama) since it was during the BOOM of call centers in the country then. When my mom passed, the need for bigger amounts of money became less of a priority, thus, I tried to find the perfect career for me. I felt like it was "me" time. I tried to go back to Chemistry, but it was too late. I was out of it for so long. So now, I found my semi-niche in careers and I am now an IT professional specializing in Technical Support, Technical Mentoring, Escalation Management, and creating innovations for work simplification (and just plain fun stuff).

Why IT?
Well, in Highschool, I was big in website creation, graphic design, and I learning topics very fast. So I was into learning programming (PHP, HTML, CSC, Java, etc.). I was also given the opportunity to manage our small family business of a cyber cafe coupled with managing its technical support and maintenance. I started using the computer (and the internet) in 1994, and have seen its growth since then. I regard a computer (and the internet) somewhat like a part of my body now. I just understand how things work. That's why I got into the IT field. I also feel that I'm a born entrepreneur and I always wanted to find ways to earn money in everything I do. I've tried freelance websites, earned quite a bit, and also website creation for other people.

My Motivations
Well, I'm now at a legal age wherein I want to start a family. I have a boyfriend (and fiancee) of almost 6 years and we are just saving up for our future family together before getting married. One other priority for me right now is my dad. He has been quite deep in debt due to the money needed in taking care of my mom (cancer for 7 solid years). When my mom passed in 2012, he started paying off the debts little by little with his OFW salary, plus, paying off our housing loan. So basically, we are just breaking even. Thus, I want to pay off all those debts and make him come home (from the middle east).

Internet Marketing
Where does Internet marketing fit in my story? I know in my heart that creating and running a sustainable and successful BUSINESS is the way to go to solve all our problems (financially) and not an 8-5 job. Even if we 4 (me, my brother, my dad, and my fiancee) work our asses off (apologies for the word) on an 8-5 job, we will never be able to change our lives for the better and actually - live - it. So, I went back to my roots of being a born "entrepreneur" and searched for ways. I have found quite a few like buying franchises, creating your own business, investing in real estate and equities, MLMs, and all sorts of junk as well. Nothing fits our needs. We have limited capital and time to even consider any of the above (and MLMs just don't play well with me, though I have quite a few). Then, I discovered a blog post on Facebook about INTERNET MARKETING and knew it was perfect. I've actually dabbled with it when I was in high school and college but never really took action. Now, I've decided, it's my time to shine. I actually wrote a blog post about it here.

Current Status
So, after that whole block of text (sorry about that), here's where I need your help. I consider myself as a newbie in this industry (though I quite understand the terms and have touched the surface a bit). I believe I may need a mentor to get this going the fast track way. I am pretty good with fast tracks as I learn very fast (caused by medical reasons too). I have paid for 1 WSO with an upsell (which I have not had use for yet), paid for the War Room, bought a personal domain with 1 year hosting (my name), and booked 1 week ticket to Hong Kong with my fiancee in December 2014 (this is a different story, so please don't judge, haha). I have a stable job with okay salary that pays monthly, and a mission! So far, I've looked into FB Ads, YouTube + Clickbank, and a few other stuff in the War Room in niche marketing (since this is where I struggled the most). If needed, I can name the resources I'm currently looking at right now.

Mission Statement
To build a profitable and sustainable online business to have more time for my family, friends, myself, and to support our needs (and a little bit of wants) without worrying about from where (and when) money will come in.

Vision Statement
To pay it forward and eventually mentor my fellow countrymen (and other people in the same boat) in the vast opportunities of the Internet and making sustainable income out of it.

-----

After reading a lot of threads and discussions in this forum, I have a very nice picture of the community and how helpful everyone is to each other. With those expectations, I am hoping to hear plenty of valuable feedback, no fluff, just the details.

I hope I'm right. ^_^

I am willing to answer any questions leading to the fulfillment (or the path to the fulfillment) of my mission. I'm gearing towards social media marketing (FB and Facebook) and both info and physical products. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Cheers!
Angeline ~

PS: I'm looking at a goal of setting up something with an income stream of $100/day within 1 month (Feb. 2014). At the moment I'm reading up on tutorials from the War Room but I just want to get your insights on what I've outlined above and where it would be best for me to start, since Internet marketing is a very vast industry. I just need some focus and direction, I guess.

Thank you for your time!

Hi, Angeline. The best advice I can give is to choose what you want to do. How do you want to make money online? It's good to know that you want to use social media to do that but you must pick a product or service. It can be one you create, or something someone else created. There are so many ways to make money online, it can be overwhelming. Once you pick a product or service, there are others here that can tell you the best way to make $100 a day.

I would say "Step away from the computer"

Go buy $100 Startup, 4Hr Workweek and The Education of Millionaires.

All of them, or just 1 of them will give you an overview, and a direction, an idea and a plan.

Then whenever you need any advice that the books dont offer come back and ask a specific question. The forum is full of great people who are full of awesome advice. But it can be overwhelming to use the forum as your sole source of education.

So step away - read a book - come up with an idea and a plan and welcome to the rest of your life!

    Hi Angeline,

I read your entire post and I'm confused. What is the question you are asking the forum with your post? I see you mention a mentor but that isn't a question.

You'll get more responses if you write a shorter post with a concrete question(s) people can answer.

    Best of luck,

      Hey Angeline,

      First construct a plan,
Decide which route you want to with because there are so many ways to make money online. You'll often see most new people become overwhelmed with information.

You want to make $100/day. Is this passive income? or from selling a product/service.

Getting a mentor is a good start, but I would suggest reading a book first before starting anything.

Its good that you are in the IT field, there are a lot of things that require a bit of tech knowledge. Learning the ins and outs of tracking links and using an autoresponder drove me crazy

If you are looking towards Facebook, you could start off with facebook ppc.
Setting up ads with targeted traffic and selling affiliate products from clickbank.

Marry your fiancee, make healthy children before it's too late.
I'm not kidding: in my 34 years I see many women who have money but are fertile - they lost their best age.
You better do it when you have nothing to lose, than when you have good online business which you will be hesitant to leave.
There is nothing more important than children and health, you understand it as you age.

I think this is the part I'm struggling with. There's are so many ways that I didn't know of! I guess I'm getting pretty overwhelmed. But thank you for this tip, I will try to write some of the things I want to do and write them down and eliminate as needed. Thanks!

"Step away from the computer" --- I needed that. Thanks. I get too easily distracted but I really want to focus. I will get those books and start with at least one. Thank you.

Wow Thank you. I guess what I'm asking is help on direction. I'm confused myself, that's why I thought I'd lay it all out and see if someone can put them all together and help me with what my niche is. Sorry if it's a boatload of text. =( but right now, that's all I have... My story, my mission, and my passion for my goal. Thanks for the tip. I'll try to dig deeper and formulate a very specific question next time. Thank you.

Hi Phil, thanks for the suggestions. I've downloaded that book but have yet to read it. I'm in the middle of the 7 habits though and Robert Kiyosaki's books. And I meant passive income when I said $100/day to start with. I've also looked into FB ads and affiliate links and stuff but can't quite find the method that speaks to me directly. Not sure how to phrase it but I'm more of a feeler kind of person. When it feels right, I have a winner. Does that make sense?

I've been thinking about this. Unfortunately, we're both very "young" in the career world. I've had to deal with very tough family issues early so my college education went longer than it should have. So I only started working by the age of 24, still finding my place in this world. So I guess we're not 'ready' yet to form a family of our own. That's why I am aiming for this for thus year or in a few months. So I can follow that amazing advice of yours.

      -----

Thanks everyone. Truly, lots of good people here. I'll start with those advices that you've provided. But does anyone have any advice on.... How to find your personal niche?

      Thanks! xoxo

        Hi Angeline,

I hear your passion. You seem like a nice person, but try to just stick to the business stuff, no need to spell out your whole life. Just saying.

I would give you two pieces of advice:

        1. Look for successful marketers who need the skills you have and do some work for them. This gets you some insider experience and a reference. You could build on this to find some JV partners.

        2. Make a list of all the things you know. Then for each of those things write up your top tips and start creating your own info products.

Then study online marketing so you will learn how to set things up to build your own business.

It's not unheard of, but trying to make $100 a day in the first month is a pretty huge goal if you don't know how you're going to do that yet. It took me a few months to make a $100 in one day, and in those months I worked on one thing and built it up.

        3. I'd create a free blog on Google with a YouTube channel and just add stuff there over time, talk about your online journey. A year from now you'll be glad you did. It shows history as you brand yourself.

All the Best. Hit me up if you need a coach for list building, traffic or releasing limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

HI, thanks for this. Yeah I kinda jus threw everything on there just so I can get very specific tips. But I guess I myself am not very specific about what I want because it's still blurry to me.

But for the last couple of days, I've started soul searching and finding out more about myself and my uniqueness.. And it's lead me to what I truly believe in. So I think I found my niche. =) now I just need to move forward with the rest of the steps.

I did create a blog in WP but I never knew Google had a blog.. I'm going to check that out. Thanks for steps 1-3 I will definitely add that to my todo list this week.

It's nice to find different insights on here. Thank you!
