Mini cows

This cracks me up. I grew up on a beef/dairy farm. The average beef/dairy cattle is probably somewhere in neighborhood of 2000lbs or better and probably stands about 5.5 feet at the shoulder/hip. They are fairly large animals. Apparently the new things is 'minicows'. They are cattle that are created from the original breeds that were brought to the country. Apparently the size of cattle today is something that came about in the 50's and 60's when the thought was more cattle make more meat.

But according to the info i'm reading, these minicows produce pretty much the same useable meat, with less waste in production and they dont eat as much or cause as much damage to things like fences and barns, and of course dont require as much room.

They look like they are about the size of big dogs.

  • Web 3.0 cows? Seriously, someday we'll eat "air"...
  • Is that where "Sliders" come from
  • Wow, that's amazing if these smaller cows produce the about the same meat as the larger cows, which are huge. Interesting post.

    • Wouldn't they be veal:rolleyes:
Honestly when I read the thread title I thought it was about fat midgets:confused:
  • Those things are too cute to be food - they look like house pets. It's going to be tough to swallow a hamburger after seeing those innocent little things. -
