Repair 'Bricked' Surface RT

Hello,
I have a Microsoft Surface RT. After updating it to Windows 8.1, it stopped working. Now, when I turn it on, it simply shows 'Surface' logo, but it doesn't actually start up. So, basically, it turns on, but it does not initiate the system.
What can I do?

Thanks in advance

Chances are that, if it displays the logo, it isn't fully bricked. When you upgraded to 8.1, it WAS the RT version, RIGHT!?!?!? If not, you NEED the RT version. The Regular version isn't compatible with RT compatible devices.

One thing I ALWAYS hated about windows is that it is a GUI based system running on TEXT based hardware. This means the hardware can't display graphics so, to look cute, they switch to a graphics screen that can't display text.

USUALLY all that is HIDDEN because, once the system fully boots, it EMULATES text and nobody is the wiser. Your ONLY problem MIGHT be that it is waiting for a response to continue. There is often a key to hit that will bring you back to the text screen that is hidden by default. Try looking. It is usually a function key like F2 or F8. If it IS looking for something, and you can get to that screen, it may be as easy as hitting a few keys.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply.
Indeed, before updating to Win8.1 it was using its default version, WinRT.
It is, as you say, fully bricked, as it only displays 'Surface' logo.
I have not been able to boot it from this hidden function.
    I bought it from Norway.
    Could anyone else please help?

On the other hand, I have heard I could create a bootable USB and boot the tablet pressing volume down button. Could any of you please share a Surface RT Recovery Image?

    Many thanks

Here's what microsoft says about the basic surface RT:

Surface is stuck on the Surface startup logo
If your Surface is stuck on the Surface startup logo, turn off Surface and then turn it back on:

Step 1: Press the power button and hold it down for 10 seconds.
This ensures that Surface shuts down instead of just going to sleep.
Step 2: Next, press the power button to turn Surface back on.
If shutting down Surface and turning it back on doesn't help, your Surface needs service. Request service at the Surface Online Service Center.

    Tried, and nothing..
I think the only option is creating a bootable USB drive for the Surface RT.
Could anyone please help on this?
