Plus the crypto currency just recently bloomed so that's why theirs a financial bubble but it will settle just as the technology market in early late 90's to early 2000's

There's a strong possibility I'm a jack-ass here but what does it mean to "buy PayPal in leu of cash..."

I've been doing this full time north of a decade and the ONLY way I know PayPal is as a vehicle with which one conducts a monetary transaction?

Am I "in the dark" about something?

I'm mining bit and script based now. Not a lot, just getting my feet wet. To be honest these currencies are too volatile to trade for me at this time, but I am following the various arbitrage patterns, will be interesting to see what happens if/when mtgox gets back to allowing withdraws.

Minus the Marketing Hype: The arbitrage part is absolutely true (i.e. Bter / Cryptsy). This is precisely the featured topic I'll be covering in Tao of Bitcoin #3.

However, as for the "five figures" part... that whole-heartedly depends on your trading knowledge (i.e. able to fluently read Candlestick Charts, etc.) and your appetite for risk (.vs your hedging strategy).

3 - 4 figures is not a stretch if you actually know what you're doing and have a knack for this sort of thing (liken it to the patience of duck hunting or golf).

If you realistically hope to achieve 5 figures a month as a crypto day trader, you need to into it eyes wide open and treat it like a real business, not merely some hobby.

Exactly - and another good article:

Bitcoin virtual currency is on verge of collapse - latimes.com

      Risks are there?
Of course - high risk. And some will profit and some will lose. Nothing new there.

Risks? Both crypto and fiat are risky, albeit for two entirely different sets of reasons.

As for the media hyperbola of the above article, BTC has not only stabilized since the Mt. Gox Disaster -and- is slowly back into an upswing. And while Mt. Gox (and all centralized exchanges, for that matter) really need to go away, my bet is still on BTC.

Not only will it continue to stabilize, and again increase in value... it will once again (4th time when it happens again) cross the four figure mark on it's continued ascent.
