I remember my younger son telling me once...."unless I'm down and out and don't move for at least 5 minutes - don't ever come out on the ball field...OK?"

I remember several times when I sat in the crowd holding my breath when one of my kids was hurt in a game - but I respected them enough not to run onto the field. This is when they were KIDS.

Going to be hard to live that one down!

  • Yep. Totally embarassing but I'm impressed she climbed the 9 foot fence.
  • He only lasted 36 seconds, maybe that guy should retire. His mama probably could have gone that long.

    • The other guy latched onto his back like a spider, and I guess he just wasn't too worried. THEN it looked like the guy just stopped the blood supply until he passed out.

Outside of giving him the access, and not blocking it, he wasn't THAT bad.

BTW I was in a school once where a lot of people did that(the "knockout drop", NOT the hold.). I never let myself be a part of it, but I am not aware of ANY having any ill effects. Apparently it IS a legitimate Martial Arts move.

He probably won't make it so easy next time. If it were ME, and he got that far, I would put my guard up and try to hit him against something, like the floor or wall, and maybe flip and reverse the situation. You see that sort of thing all the time in the movies.

    • I reckon that's around 30 seconds longer than I would have lasted. If my mother was there, she would have waited until we were in the hospital away from the public eye, then given me an earful about being so foolish.

In following years, she would have periodically brought it up to put me in my place, never letting me live it down. I'd actually be more scared of that than stepping into a ring to fight in MMA. How about you? Would you choose to fight in MMA, most likely losing, or be nagged over something for years?

  • That's really one hell of an embarrassing day for th son.. Ladies will never understand the ego of a man.

    • I never thought any woman was dumb enough to not understand that. I have even heard some present the idea that that is why there are such color and design schemes. They limit actions by even the most dishonest men through embarrassment.

But if worse comes to worse, mothers can listen to their sons or remember all those shows on TV, etc... that state the obvious.

  • It is embarrassing she climbed long enough this good thing.
