We get this question a lot.

Your signature is showing properly. The reason you're not seeing them is that your profile is set to NOT display signatures. You can change that option yourself.

Go to the User CP menu at the top left of the screen. Select Edit Options. Scroll down that page to the Thread Display Options section. Check the box that says Show Signatures. Scroll to the bottom and select Save Changes.

Done.

Also would like to add that signatures are not visible on few sections/sub-sections of the forum.

Does anyone else see the irony here? "Let's turn off signatures because 'Advertising Bad!'... Hey!... What about my signature!?"

Kinda like folks who wonder why their favorite free website shrivels up and dies.... "Couldn't have anything to do with my super-duper-kills-all-ads blocking software."

This isn't an "ads bad" thing. I believe new accounts have the "Display signatures" option off by default.

Hrm... isn't that worse, then? i.e., While WF may not earn actual income from the signatures, there is arguably a certain level of value to/from the members, and it makes more sense for the option to be turned on by default. I think they do show if one isn't logged in at all (which comprise most of the views), and a reasonable argument is that one shouldn't get less value by being a member.

Hmmm... That's one way of looking at it. Here's another.

Yes, they do show when you're not logged in. If you're not a member, you don't have a choice. If you're a member, you do.

I don't know why that setting was made the default, or if it was even a deliberate action. Could have been something that got switched off during maintenance somehow. I could guess, but that's all it would be. Given that it is 100% within the individual member's control, I don't really care enough to have asked.

Is someone working on the "search glitch"? Been unable to search or see recent past posts for quite a few days.

Last time this happened it took a while to correct it but was followed by the forum going down for a while.

Sure; I can see that position, as well. But there's a difference between the choice and the default. I don't recall changing very many things since I've joined, and this item certainly hasn't been one of them.

Yes, I concur that it was likely not deliberate.

Except that, as you said yourself, this question keeps coming up (and thus takes time away from other things). I'm guessing that, if the default reverted to where it was before, there wouldn't be nearly as many people asking how to turn the signatures off. (IMHO)

Paul; Every single day, I like to read my last 100 posts or so. It's how I pass the time...reading what I had to say earlier...

Anyway, when I click Find all posts by Claude Whitacre, I get nothing. Any ideas?

They are working on the search function.

David... This is one of those debates that could go on and on and on. I just don't see it as a problem either way. When people ask about it, someone answers. If they don't ask, it's probably not a big deal to them.
