One person let one of her dogs just follow her, with the leash in tow. Watch what happened!

BTW A bit of advice. Elevators sometimes have an emergency stop. If you have this problem, there are only TWO buttons that have ANY hope of working.

1. EMERGENCY STOP!
2. The button for the next floor you will hit.

Any other button, and you might as well relax, because it won't help.

Dogs can get into trouble in cars when their leashes are left on them, too. People need to think when they put leashes on their pups.

Yeah, it is a shame. It looks like she had the leash for the small dog, but NOT for the other. The OTHER followed them, but the leash handle was still outside and caused this problem. It's a shame that they don't have a real tight tolerance on the door pressure sensor. Of course, SURPRISINGLY, many don't have such a sensor, or it is bad. If they did have such a sensor, it wouldn't close properly, due to the leash, and would open the door again, a lot like the light sensors on a garage door closer.

hmmmm, saw a guy a few days ago with his dog behind him near a busy road with NO LEASH!

I thought dum, but it was the nightmare family sitting behind me that had my attention.

Quiet coffee shop one hour, kids nightmare the next. I don't get parents that let their kids, bang their plates half a dozen times before telling them to stop it, then 5 minutes later they do it again???

I think that Maccers might be quieter?

Interestingly enough ... Most of the elevators I have used
have two sensors. One about three inches from the bottom
      and one about 3.5 up.

I have always thought the one on the bottom was to high
A slight adjustment and nothing like this can ever happen again.

WOW, I don't know if I have ever seen that kind. I was talking about the kind that has a moving bar on either side that is between the sliding doors, and extends the full length. If they see too much pressure, the doors are SUPPOSED to stop, and open. If they were tighter, and more sensitive, they would detect the leash, and the door would just open again, wait, and the woman would check the door and pull the leash in.
