16 Questions You Should Never Ask In Paris
#off topic forum
  • I learned French for 5 years at school and passed an exam too. However, when I went to Paris and asked a Gendarme, in French, where the Louvre was, I actually thought he was going to hit me.

I had to ask someone later if I'd said something wrong but it was fine.

  • Don't ask for a pipe, even in a hardware store. Trust me on this one!
  • No need to ask for nonfat lattes or egg whites only. The food is rich, but the portions are small enough that you don't have to worry about diet substitutions.
  • 11, Ah.. So authentic France isnt good enough?.. Go to one of the normal places and get an XXXXXXL

15, Yeah.. Thats normal for Europe.. Go find a taxi rank and wait in line.

While I agree with what your saying.. This is however. Europe and this is just how shit works outside of places like London. hell if you yelled hard enough it would work in France too!. I assume you yelled in french yeah?

  • Well I see I passed the 16 things not to say in Paris test. Maybe that's why I found the people there absolutely delightful. I heard a lot of horror stories from tourists there, but I never experienced anything close to what a lot of people say, and I went there several times while I lived in Germany.

Also, as in any country - the question isn't "where is.............it's "what's the best way to get to........".

    • It also helps tremendously if you at least try to ask them things in French. In general, I didn't find Parisians to be any better or worse than people in any other major city.
