Good Evening Fellow Internet Marketers,

I need a free Autoresponder script, a good one. Now, I know very well about Aweber, AutoResponderPlus, Fireball Responder, FastResponse, etc.. But I want to host my own...

If any of you have ever downloaded one and used it and liked it, please share more information regarding it.

Thanks!

I WISH I could remember the name, but there is one that is VERY "cheap". I think they usually charge like $5, though some charge a LOT more. BE CAREFUL! It is a piece of garbage written by an idiot that didn't even understand locking. You could get hundreds of thousands of contacts and the moment 2 try to update at the same time, the list is WIPED OUT!

So you have to be CAREFUL! Frankly, I wouldn't trust ANY using flat files for subscriber based updates. Databases HIDE a lot of the need to worry about locking, so your data is more likely to be safe.

Cheers Steve! I am glad I listened to you, well I`m looking into Autoresponderplus.com, they offer great service I hear, a one time fee, Professional installation for only 30 bucks (I think i can handle it myself), and great service. But, i appreciate it!

I tested InfinteResponder - and liked it except it has a tendency
to cut-off the ends of long emails and send only the first part.

Some sort of limitation, but really a bug I doubt has been fixed.
If you only send short emails it wouldn't be a problem.

      Hey Loren,

Yea, I tried it too, but I had trouble with the Cron Jobs and i`m still frustrated with installing it to date, at the same time i don`t want to pay for a professional installation...

Sometimes your webhosting may provide mailing list
and autoresponder facilities from your control panel

Mike, yes my Hosting provider definetly provides that, but as to how to make Subscription Forms, How to create autoresponders and put them on a mailing list, and so on... I`d have to have a tutorial, i`d be much appreciated if you could Mike .

As for you Darla, I had Infinite Responder, Ok, for like 5 minutes because i was having trouble with the function to do at the time listed in the Cron Tab Time settings, and it was confusing, I really don`t want to have to pay for a $30 pro install at the same time because I can do this. What do i put in for the action or function field at the time listed, this may fix my problem. And
also, do i edit the pop3 settings in Infinite Responder... Or do i just leave it how it is? Thanks!

And does Infinite have a responder where i could have a hyperlink on those short emails saying "read more..." and it`d link to that article? Thanks again!
