Here's A Little Song I Wrote...

Many years ago when I was feeling down and out, I wrote the lyrics and melody to this little tune in order to cheer myself up. (Talk about self help right?)

The song sat in a shoe box until years later when I heard my nephew sing something in a Reggae style.
His voice and personality suited this tune, so I invited him into my studio and we recorded his vocals.
I then added my backup vocals, did the production in a positive Reggae vibe, and the rest is history.

This week I sat down and fired up my video software and made a basic song lyric video and uploaded it.

I hope it cheers up at least one person who needs it today!

    Hey Arnold...What a great song! I think it's my favorite of any Warrior's song I've heard.

    And a fun video too. Out of curiosity, what program did you us for the kinetic text? I'm guessing AE or Proshow?

      Hey Kurt, I challenged myself to see if I could make a reasonably looking song lyric video using cyberlink powerdirector, some basic text fonts, and the standard effects included in the program.

      Powerdirector is not made to create this type of video right out of the box, but with a little patience and some familiarity with the software, I managed to get the desired result having spent enough time just messing around.

        Thank you Frank. I actually do remember that tune. I grew up in the Netherlands and it was popular there amongst the Reggae fans. Now that you mention it, the "fly away on coconut airways" lyric in that song, has a similar chord progression to my "and you can go anywhere your heart desires" lyric. I think that's what jogged your memory.

      Thank you Sal for listening. Yes you are right, I think everything came together the way it was supposed to with the Reggae feel etc. We also had allot of fun that day recording the vocals and had a few good laughs as my nephew tends to go off into is own world of ad-libs, and it shows in the track.

      Ironically, there actually are some YouTube / iPhone alarms on the market that allow you to wake up to a YouTube video. I trust there's an app for everything.
