All the snow and ice piled up by my truck by the snow plows finally melted this week. Temps got above 60 degrees for the first time this season.

Springtime in the Rockies is here...until later tonight, when the snow starts. Expecting a foot of snow over the next day or so.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for spring.

Me too, Kurt. Our local weatherman called this the "endless winter" about a month ago. We've hit the 50's a couple times and the 60's once in the last week or so, but I can still look out my window and see snow in places. It's been raining all day so it's getting knocked down fast though. I hope this thunderstorm is blasting away the past winter for good. My bicycle is begging me to ride it.

There's a few patches of snow left is some shady places, but 95% of the ground is snow-free...until later tonight. This storm is moving east and will probably hit many of you folks.

The good news is, it's supposed to warm up pretty quickly after the snow.

Sounds like it's about the same there as here. Shady places and where the snow blower (or snow plows) have piled it is mainly what's left. The places where the city piles the snow they haul away is still huge though.

The newspaper had an article that a nearby city has spent over $6k tearing down their snow pile so far. The picture that accompanied the story showed two big backhoes tearing into a pile that looked to be about 20 feet high or better. It was much taller than the backhoes.

You made me look at the extended forecast . . . we have snow forecast for Wednesday. Sigh.

We finally hit the 60's and today 70 (tomorrow 76). But we're supposed to go back to the mid 40s later in the week.

But I am optimistic that the snow is done for the season

I sometimes get nostalgic and wish i still lived near mountains, real forests and have the ability
to jump into any random river or lake without worrying about some reptile chewing on my leg.

    and then ...

I remember the snow, sleet, ice, cabin fever, digging dads truck out after the snowplow
came through at 6 am ...

    screw that noise.

I'm in the midwest, and it looks like we FINALLY got spring! The birds are out chirping and even attacking my house, squrrels are relaxing in the sun, etc... In a couple days, if it doesn't rain, I may even water my lawn!

I just got home from a trip to Ochoco cliffs for some rock hunting - actually was down to my bathing suit catching some much needed rays and Vit D today.

Reading this, though, I remember growing up in MI and all my pretty little Easter coats.

It's been really nice here that past few weeks and I thought Spring was here to stay...until a winter storm warning was issued for tonight. Looks like where I live is expecting a foot of snow, starting tonight.

This weather is really putting the "mother" in Mother Nature.

    Kurt,

We have been living in the 90's for the last week or so. Been soaking up the rays and have a great tan. My bikini line is ogled by all the old ladies here in the old folks home. My wife was arrested last week for kicking one old gal for pulling my spandex bikini down to my b....

Its a tough life being so good looking.

I lived down the road a little SW of Kurt for years and I remember snow on the 4th of July up there. (8,700 ft). There's a lake up above St. Mary's glacier that never thaws out, although it got close by the end of August a few years.

Here today it didn't quite get to 50 and it's raining again. Have plenty of time tonight to decide where to do my rock hunting tomorrow because it will be high 60's and sunny. I just wish the up and down temps would go away and it would pick a temp within a 5 degree span to stay longer than one or two days. All this up and down is playing hell on my health.

Living here in Aurora, CO has been really funky weather. I just moved here about a year ago though, so maybe I'm still adapting to my new locale. Who knows?

I hope the weather turns up better for all of us soon. I want to get out and do more video marketing, but the weather has just been...Less than ideal.
