If you have read it, what do you think of it? I've come across divergent reviews on "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch, ranging from "beautiful" to "creepy."

Here's a positive one:
"I got this book after I saw someone post a sad story on Facebook about this book. Being through trials and tribulations myself with infertility I decided to purchase this book to read to my newborn miracle boy and his miracle 6 year old brother. We read it every night and my 6 year old now recites many phrases by memory. Great story to make memories with!"

Here's a negative one:
"I started reading this book to my daughter and couldn't finish it. I was completely disturbed by its content. I love my children and would give up anything for them but this goes way beyond a healthy love. I would not even give this book away when you talk about driving across town and sneaking into the home of your full grown sons' home that is crossing major lines."

I think some of the negative reviewers don't understand that some things should be taken metaphorically rather than literally.

All I can say is that, if you want to write books that sell, this appears to be one way to do it.

I haven't read the book, just a few of the reviews. I wonder if kids feel the same way about their parents?

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

My son enjoys the book. He finds the scenes that some negative reviewers find creepy, to be hilarious.

I'd reckon that it depends on the kid and on the parent. I know one woman whose parents passed away decades ago but still hates her deceased mother for how she treated her deceased father, who she still misses.

One of my brothers still suffers over our father passing away, but my father and I weren't close so it doesn't affect me as much. But, I still feel pain over my former nanny's passing away years ago, over what I wish I had said to her and done for her.

I recommend a movie to you, when you watch it, you'll know exactly "Love You Forever" means. The movie is P.S. I Love You, very impressive.

Someone - I think a grandparent - bought the book for us when my oldest son, now 20, was first born. We've since read it many times to all of our kids, the youngest being now 7. We all thought it was an absolutely beautiful book. I had no idea that some of those reviews are out there. I have to believe that they are fake reviews, and that people are not really that dumb. But you never know now days.

    Here's the book - it's fairly short...
