I saw that on the news too. I was blown away ... Go CAT!!!
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Pretty amazing. Goes to show the karma of love.
  • The dog will be euthanized, but does anyone know if the dog's owner has been charged with anything?

  • Steve started a thread about this here: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...-believed.html

  • Totally irresponsible on the dog owners part then. The dog "escaped" through an open gate. Right.

    • It does happen. It was the dog's owner who called 911 after witnessing the incident. Is it so improbable that the 8-month-old dog (still basically a pupply) slipped through an open gate as the car was driving in, or that the owner wasn't aware that it was capable of such a violent attack on a child?

  • That's pretty cool!
  • Very sad situation and very heroic cat!

After healing, I hope the kid is encouraged to hang around friendly dogs so a lifelong fear doesn't develop.
  • Amazing really amazing well i am quite impress
  • I saw it on the news here and was amazed. What a plucky cat!

I predict a celebrity cat that gets a new satin pillow, rhinestone collar, Fancy Feast every day and neighbors who set out little treats for it.

    That's a tough cat.

Why did the mother leave the kid on the ground at the end of the video?

    • You can say THAT again. Now THAT is bravery!

I HOPE it was simply that she wanted to dress things up properly. If she were SURE the child was out of danger, she could get some antiseptic and/or cleaning solution, and bandages, and make sure he is OK and clean first.

  • I saw the interview with the family on TV last night.
Apparently the cat adopted the parents 5 years ago following them home from the park and said "You're my people now."
When the kid was born the cat would curl up in the crib next to him and cuddle with him. The cat has been a life long friend and look out for the boy.
So the cat laying the smack down on the dog attacking his boy is totally in the realm of something that would happen.

For the record I love cats.

    • Back when I was in my early teens, we had a cat like that. It just walked in one day and stayed.

It must be a thing with ex-strays that makes them totally unafraid of dogs to the point of attacking them. Perhaps it's something to do with surviving on the streets for a time that makes them that way.

  • Well, I just found out that the owner was fully aware that the dog didn't like children or bicycles, so I take back any benefit of the doubt that I'd expressed.

  • Would never have thought a cat would go against a dog to protect a child! never heard of that happening before..I saw it on the news as well and I was amazed really.
That's one brave cat, and coming from one that doesn't like them all that much..unless they're trained.
  • This video is awesome! I have 2 cats and I know how loyal they can be.

    • Does the article explain how there were three different camera angles? Were they three different security cameras?

      Cats ...dogs...

The dog would say "You own me, I love you, I'll lay down my life for you"

Cats say "I own that little kid, he feeds me, if a dog tries to come onto my property and bites something I own....there is going to be a fight"

      I'm only half joking.
