That's what happened to me. I am not an alcoholic or anything, but I did used to drink quite a bit on the weekends.

I would drink Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, then spend the next three days feeling like shite and this affected my work and motivation.

I decided to quit the booze a month or so ag0, and my energy levels went through the roof, which resulted in more work from me, and more money being earned.

All of a sudden I was working harder than ever before. Give it a try, not only good for your health, but also for your wallet!

I noticed the same thing. Tonight I went to a nightclub after months of working 14 hours per day, and I realized that I didn't miss anything. There's nothing like living a healthy lifestyle, eating good food, sleeping early and waking up early.

Well, if you read my posts you'll know I'm a lover of beer. I used to be terrible with it and I still have the odd replapse, mainly when the weather gets nice and hot but when I say relapse, I don't mean getting shit faced, just a few beers.

I like a few on a Friday and Saturday but I only have a beer during the week now on special occasions like St Paddys day/St Georges day or some other excuse I find reasonable.

You are spot on though, you will save a fortune and you're productivity will be far better. It's a depressant anyway so unlikely to be good for you.

Having said that, It's Friday, it's going top be as warm as toast today, I've a barbecue to attend later, so I will be on the beers tonight.

Well done though, not a lot of people even think about stopping to see what it's like.

I think you start to learn what beer and booze in general does to you when you get to your mid thirty's.. - I did anyway!

Like you I only try and drink on rare occasions now, and yes the weather is fantastic today and all weekend here in the UK so I may have a beer or 2 myself, but it really does zap your motivation and energy.

I would encourage anyone to quit the booze for a month and see how much more you get done, your mind is sharper aswell, so better work also.

Anyone ever entered the alcohol ( quit alcohol ) niche?

I gave up smoking cigarettes 3 years ago after 40 plus years and I now have more cash in hand than ever..unless you're on a good income smoking is a very expensive habit especially in my country.
The same for booze if you are drinking regular..

Long ago I asked a 20-year sober alcohol rehab counselor how you know when you're an alcoholic. He said the answer is easy. If alcohol consistently causes you problems, you're an alcoholic.

I think a lot of people think your only an alcoholic if you drink first thing in the morning, but in reality that's simply not true.

After several attempts, I've been clean from all substances and cigarette free for many years now. Life really is better for me now, though I did gain weight. Ugh.

If drinking has become a problem I highly encourage you to quit. Some people can't have just one. It's all or nothing.

Most people that quit do well until around the 90-120 day mark and then relapse. Been there, done that. It's NOT easy for alcoholics to quit, but it can be done.

Send me a PM if you have any questions. That or we can chat on Skype. I'd be glad to lend an ear if you need it. Of course, anything said would remain 100% confidential.

        Take care,

        Joe
