I reccommend downloading MalwareBytes Malwarebytes | Thank you for download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and letting it scan your computer.

Check that there are no strange add ons/extensions/plugins in browser.
    Also check search providers.

Check all the programs installed on your computer and uninstall and suspect ones.
Make sure your antivirus is up to date

Another good addon for Chrome which blocks tracking cookies and scripts from running by default is called 'Ghostery'.

Hey waterotter, my post count is fine, I don't have a lot of input in this forum really because IM is not my specialist subject, and I don't do it for a living. But I do enjoy coming here and reading the threads and learning a little along the way.

You should always check if add-on was attached in browser or if you have Virus. Chrome browser a little easier to identify and remove add-ons

Check in Extensions under Settings in Chrome. Get rid of anything you don't recognize in there.

Also check your On Startup page to make sure it isn't something weird, and what Search tool Chrome is defaulting to.

Go into Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Do the same thing, but before you Delete, google search for the program to see what it is. Many things with odd names are necessary for your computer to run. But if it's an ad pop-up program, google will tell you and you can nuke it from orbit.
