    Seasoned,

I agree...just saw the photo on FB this morning and my reaction was "What the heck? THAT'S what (some or many) women want?!" He looks sorta...alien...to me.

But I'm not the target market...let's see what they say.

Just wanted to let you know I was just as surprised on this one.

I'm the target market and yes, he is hot. I've never been one to like pretty boys. I like them rugged looking. The most handsome guy ever ... NO, of course not, but he's way above average.

What I don't like is the tattoo under his eye. That would be a no deal for me. I don't like the cold stare either, but maybe in more natural circumstances, he would look better.

I don't like the fact that he is an habitual criminal, so he's not dating material, but I can see that had he chosen another walk in life, he would be a real catch.

WOW! I guess we just found out why so many women get abused! As for tattoos, it seems that is the thing now. Some LOVE them. I DON'T, but some DO!

Thinking a man is good-looking means we're open to abuse? I don't get that leap of thought. I agree with Suzanne - he looks like a model on the outside, but the inner person is not remotely appealing.

Steve. Did you actually read my post at all? Did you not read that he would not be dating material IMHO? Did you not read that I didn't like his cold stare? Did you not read that I did not like the teardrop tattoo under his eye? Did you not deduce that I don't consider gangbangers and felons to be desirable mates?

I have never been abused in my life and never dated a man who committed violent crimes against anyone. I've never dated a gang member.

        Are we clear now?

As for my comment, it stands. This guy has all the raw material to be a popular male model or on the cover of a men's magazine. Had he chosen a different route in life he probably could have made some money from his looks.

PS/ In case you're still confused in any way, I do not now nor have I ever dated violent criminals or abusive men.

... and I'm not a homosexual. lol. Sorry, since some seem to have to qualify or disqualify themselves, I thought I'd throw that in.

YEP! I read that! I understand that YOU didn't like the tattoos, and here saw something in the expression, and knew the history, and didn't like that. My statement about tattoos wasn't about you.

Just knowing the guy is a criminal is an immediate turnoff and someone to ignore. I saw pics of his mug with both the blue eyes and then in other photos he had more normal-looking brown eyes. I'll bet he was wearing colored lenses in the photo and blue wasn't his natural eye color. That tat on the face? Ugh and yuck, not attractive.

High cheekbones, blue eyes; anyone recall the young Paul Newman? Factor in an element of danger and you can understand the attraction.

I have to wonder how stupid women have to be to et excited over the appearance of a felon - or how hard up they must be.

Yes, he's attractive to a point. He's not overweight - has great cheekbones and piercing eyes....but that's where it ends in my opinion. I think his jaw is too square and I don't like his mouth at all.

look i am not homosexual....but i can recognize looks where a guy would have no problem getting women..and this guy has it.

You know...if Johnny Depp walks into my local bar..i know every women is going to be staring at him.

Sorry Seasoned, JASON....THIS GUY WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS. Regardless of him being a crook he's a good looking guy (oh grief i sound gay... lol) And Seasoned, some women stating he is good looking..how does that mean she's opening up for abuse? You asked the question she answered. So if he's banker (MAYBE A BAD EXAMPLE?) IT'S OK TO SAY HE'S GOOD LOOKING?

    Apparantly it's all pretty mathematical

    High cheekbones
    Strong chin
    Strong jawline
    Proportioned nose
    Right ratios. etc...

and he has it.............shame he turned to crime instead of something else

Why do some men feel the need to start an opinion with " i am not homosexual"??? Or post three times about a criminal's looks?

I am not a homosexual. I keep saying that to give you girls the idea that you have a shot with me. There is a lot of demand for chunky, bald, middle aged, married men.

But I think he's hot. In fact, I think that's the reason he got arrested...for being too hot. It happens to me sometimes too.

I asked my wife if she thought he was hot, and she said "I would leave you in a New York minute, if I thought I had a shot at this guy"...and that's a direct quote from a woman.

I think this is a silly thread.

Normally, men wouldn't even VENTURE an opinion. I could usually understand to a degree why a woman or girl is interested, but THIS guy? WEIRD! I once REALLY liked this woman and she was heads over heels over one guy, and tried to make it sound like he was the best she had ever seen. I didn't understand THAT either.

The idea of abuse that I mentioned is just based on the rugged comments suzanne made. That does NOT mean that rugged men even have a PROPENSITY for rage, but you probably have a bit greater likelihood, and the women may be attracted to other things that DO make things more likely..

I guess the era related and stigma thing about being gay. My brother is 61 and socially liberal on most things, and he could never admit to a guy being good looking or not. He says he "can't tell if they are good looking".

I'm 54 and my best friend from high school was gay. He tried to hide it through high school,
dated a lot of girls... and came out of the closet right after high school (we all started to figure it out
anyway). I've never had an issue with deciding if a guy is hot or not, and it sure is subjective.

          Aw Jeez!

I read through the comments before looking at the face in question. I was convinced that I wouldn't find him hot in the least bit and I could tell you guys that I didn't know what was wrong with the younger generation's tastes in good looking men.

Then I looked at him and OMGosh! It was those lips, those big, soft cushy looking lips! Forget the blue eyes and jawline, pfffft!

It's his lips and the shape of his nose that makes him hot to me.

But if I could tear my eyes away from his lips, those tats on his neck would be a complete turn off to me if that helps, LOL!

Most everyone responding knows there are character issues. Maybe it's easier for others to separate physical appeal from character than it is for me. I find character to be a great part of attraction, at least equal to physical attributes.

I agree. Character is a large part of attraction. I'm was not discussing attraction. I was discussing physical attributes of a person, whether or not he is handsome or hot. They're not the same thing in my mind. I'm not attracted to everyone who is good looking physically. There are some very good looking people that I am completely repulsed by. This felon is only one of them. There are some very hot men with much fewer character flaws than this one who don't attract me, but I still think they are very good looking physically.

Ok, he's eye candy. Thing is I can see better eye candy that actually has warmth in their eyes pretty much ANYWHERE else. This guy? Once I look into his eyes gives me the creeps.

I feel sorry for him. Better upbringing and you'd all know him as a super model.

Sadly crime went his way and he, well, went the wrong way as so many do.

Now you get to see him as a result of gang culture.

      Sad really, isn't it?

What a waste of life and of course those he wasted on the way to this.

On a positive note Claude's way better looking.

EDIT. No homo me either. Perish the thought with the likes of Riffle around.

That sounded very foreign, not like any Canadian I've ever heard. I don't know what that was -- "Canadian" in Alice In Wonderland maybe. I can honestly say that was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in my life.

(Sorry about misrepresenting Canada in some of my posts, myself. I like to think most people know I'm kidding around)

Yeah but Cockney isn't easy to replicate and he danced better than any Cockneys I know.

Dick Van Dyke is a very talented guy, thankfully still very much among us. I bet he even would have pulled off the Cockney accent if he had had the right accent coach.

Here he is on a recent shopping trip.

I don't doubt it for a second, the rhyming slang is harder as it mutates constantly as new phrases come out all the time. I'm sure he could have pulled it off with the right coach as you say though.

Having said that, I've seen numerous films over the years where I was shocked to hear the actor in an interview and they're American, Australian, Canadian or whatever, they get the accent perfect nowadays. I had no idea the dwarf in Game of Thrones wasn't a very posh Englishman.

Mel Gibson in Brave Heart however was about as Scottish sounding as I am.

Long live Dickie, excellent chap and Mary Poppins is still going strong as almost compulsory viewing every Christmas here.

EDIT. He can still dance well enough and despite a slightly grainy film, there's no mistaking that smile!

It's amazing how our generation has changed drastically in my 44 years of living. I happened to stumble across the Jeremy Meeks fan pages last night by chance since it's literally gone viral. Those fan pages are growing extremely fast. The majority of the comments are utterly disgusting. These shallow women known as whores and sluts are "glorifying" a criminal who has good looks and a "Gangsta". To make matters worse, they're making donations for his defense to 'Free Him".

The hypocrisy behind it, if Jeremy Meeks was an average or below average looking man, those women wouldn't give two craps if he were found guilty or innocent. It wouldn't even be news. There was a photo of two men posted on one of the pages last night where it compared criminal Jeremy Meeks, thousands of women are idolizing him, and Kyle Carpenter, war hero who saved his fellow men, zero women talking about him. And the comments, were about as shallow and evil as I've ever seen in my life. Seriously! There should be a law to prevent these types of women from ever breeding.

Back in the days when I was growing up, there was a time when gangstas, violent criminals and the likes of Jeremy Meeks were considered outcasts and social misfits. I myself, hate the gansta type because I know what their true demeanor is. Real men were admired and respected back then. But Today? these gangsta clowns are glorified, and a lot of women drool over them.

Respect, realness and being a gentlemen are a sign of weakness in today's society unfortunately. That's the sad truth.

Your minds are on one thing, and one thing only. It disgusts me.

How would you like it if men looked at you, and only thought about how you looked? And what if we just thought about how attractive you looked..and treated you like an object of desire?

I hear ya Claude, but in defense of the women, you probably bring that sort of behavior upon yourself by wearing skimpy revealing clothes. Were you equally outraged when the many thousands of dollars poured in for George Zimmerman's defense of shooting an innocent teen to death? He wasn't pretty.

Unlike Zimmerman, Meeks has never been convicted of a violent crime. He was arrested for having an unregistered gun in the trunk of his car, along with a couple of magazines and a round of ammo. He was previously arrested for grand theft and ID theft of his brother. Criminal ... yes. Violent ... not on his arrest record.

Personally, I think he's young enough and has the looks that he could use that to turn his life around. I'll bet some investor would fund a start-up clothing line called "Felon" with him as the model/spokesperson and with some training, he make a real turnaround. Probably won't happen, but everything is possible. People have to be a lot worse than this guy before I consider them throw-aways.

That is a weirdly brilliant idea. If the "Porn Star" clothing took off, my not "Felon"? It could be funny in a movie along the lines of Zoolander. I can almost see it already.

Charlottesville is GORGEOUS! Yes I've been there many times. Have you ever been to places in West Virginia? What city is your favorite there? I've been to White Sulphur Springs and it's very pretty there.

This is not going to be a joke.

Sure, he's good looking. Square jaw, bright eyes, full lips, great angles to his face...everything is symmetrical. Honestly, he could be a model (based only on his face. No idea what he looks like otherwise.)

And those facial qualities...most women find attractive. He looks healthy, young, and looks like he could handle himself in an altercation......

It really does matter what you look like. People do judge a book by its cover.

But as soon as he talks, or even walks...it's all over. Now we start getting verbal signals that tell us what he's really like. Now we see attitude, kindness, bravado, meanness, courtesy, selfishness...and all the rest.

When my step-daughter was about 16 years old, and brought a group of her girlfriends over on a Friday night (many years ago), I was startled by how attractive some of the girls were.

I even found myself purposely not looking at them, for fear they would get the wrong idea.

And then they started to talk.....

After a couple of minutes of that, it didn't matter what they looked like. They were kids. They were talking about nonsensical kid stuff. They reminded me of fluffy puppies. And then it didn't matter at all what they looked like.

Someone asked Nipsy Russell (A great black comedian from decades ago) if it hurt him, being black. he said (This is from memory). "It doesn't matter. After 2 minutes, you're either funny...or you're not".

It's like that with looks. After a very short time, they become inconsequential.

In my entire life, I've known just two salespeople who tried to use their looks when selling.
One was a man, the other a woman. Both were very good looking. They both worked for me. They both barely got by. It simply isn't that important...after the first minute or two.

To me, good looks just means that you're probably healthy.

I've seen plenty of healthy people who were butt ugly and some beautiful people who were dieing. Just saying.

We don't know a thing about this guy except that he was arrested for carrying a weapon. He refutes being a gang member at this time. We know nothing about him really and given that a person is innocent until proved guilty, we know nothing about this crime he was arrested for. The only thing I got was he was illegally carrying a weapon.

Everyone seems to be making assumptions about this man's life because of one mug shot and I would imagine that the sum total of a person's life is more than a moment when a mug shot is taken. He has a past and he has a future.

        His past includes crimes like:

In their statement, cops explained that he was stopped after he was seen leaving a home where a search warrant was about to be executed and, after carrying out a search on his car, cops found a 9mm round of ammunition and a small amount of 'what is believed to be' marijuana in his passenger compartment.

Inside the trunk, cops also allegedly found an unregistered and loaded Springfield Armory .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun along with two extended magazines for the firearm.

Stockton police explained that the documented gang member has a felony conviction and a two year state prison sentence from a 2002 conviction for grand theft from a person in Solano County.

But records show that was just the start of his trouble with the law.

In April 2005, Meeks was charged with identity theft in the second degree and resisting arrest in Spokane County, Washington, although the second charge was later dismissed.
Really? $1M dollar bail on weapons charges? Some people charged with murder get less bail. He refutes being a gang member. He got married and has a child and says he hasn't been a gang member for 7 years. So he was arrested for a round of ammo, an unregistered gun in his car and a small amount of weed. Big deal. There's far worse criminals out there if that's the type of crime this guy is involved in.

He could turn his whole life around and become anything. He wouldn't be the first ex gang member or felon to go to do great things.

Let's hope he becomes a decent man.

People surmised from the OP article (and the tats - the one by his eye possibly meaning
he's killed someone), 5 weapons charges and one gang charge:

"Jeremy Meeks, 30, a convicted felon, was arrested Wednesday on five weapons charges and one gang charge, according to Officer Joseph Silva, a spokesman for the Stockton Police Department."
