    Perhaps they should rename them "Freedom Waffles" (to go with "Freedom Fries")

    Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
    So that blind people can hate them as well.

      A little trivia, in the US we used to call french toast german toast, until WWI, when we changed the name because Germany was then the enemy.

      You Aussies better not start anything with us, or it'll be "Fosters is French for beer". You've been warned.

        LOL.

        F.Y.I. No self-respecting Aussie would allow Foster's to pass their lips. The main drop(s) down here are now "boutique" beers, of which there are dozens. In the "old days", each state had it's own breweries, and so each had their own favourite beer.

        New South Wales had Tooheys;
        Victoria had Victoria Bitter (VB);
        Queensland had XXXX (or Four-X)*
        South Australia had West End;
        Tasmania had Boag's;
        Western Australia had Swan Lager.

        Nowhere, I repeat nowhere, was Foster's drunk except by overseas visitors who were familiar with the name. After a while though, they too started drinking the local brews.

        *The main drop in Queensland is called XXXX because Queenslanders don't know how to spell beer.

          I will wholeheartedly 100% back Whateverpedia up here.

          I drink Tooheys when in Sydney and in Perth lots of rather fancy beers like the more connoisseur ones here. Admittedly many years ago when I picked tomatoes in Childers for several months I was heavily on the Castlemaine but I don't actually recollect seeing any Fosters in Australia at all. Respect where it's due too, XXXX made the best ever beer commercial...

          http://youtu.be/PiQrkXFkk_s

          In fact it always makes me laugh when I go into a lovely country pub over here and see they sell Fosters on tap when it's quite simply the most watered down shite Australia makes, hence why they ship it overseas to all the mugs.

          The French do it with their wine too.

          Dam good idea if you ask me.

          Now I fancy a stubbie, nice and warm here today too....beer....beeeeeer....oh no....here we go...

    "Don't mess with me. I'm tougher than a Waffle House steak!"

    Does anyone really ever eat at a Waffle House unless they're really drunk and it's 3 AM?

      I do every time I head south.
      Best place in the world for eggs and grits.
      I don't remember ever having one of their waffles though.

        Waffle House has the worst food ever. Anyone can cook an egg, and if I was in the south and wanted a grit, I'd get it at a local restaurant...

        The classic scene from My Cousin Vinnie..."What's a grit?"

          My advice then is don't eat there.
          I happen to like their eggs and grits (and coffee) so I do.
