Sharing photos with Sales

Okay, so here in the Marketing department, we use Bridge to organize customer's photos. We apply tags and star ratings, so that we can easily search by product type, quality of photo, and a couple other criteria. We also sort everything within folders, so we know who did what, and how we acquired the photos.

I want to share this with the Sales department, but they don't have Bridge. Is there a web-based, photo sharing site out there that I can do all this? I have thought about installing Bridge on their computers, but it is a little costly, and then I have to stay up-to-date on upgrades, bugs, fixes, and all that. I'd rather have something I can set up, organize, and walk away from knowing it will be reliable.

Anyone?

Thanks!
Jon

    Hello,

I have been shooting photos professionally for the past 13 years and have a photo library of almost a million images but I have not seen the perfect online solution for photo organization as I understand you want to use it.

Yeah, one may exist but I am not familiar with it.

The semi-advanced and advanced organizational tools beyond Bridge that I use are the outstanding Adobe Lightroom --> of which some versions can still be purchased at a reasonable price outright, or you can do the $10 a month Adobe Photographers Creative Cloud option that includes Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom.

Another very stable system system I have used for about a decade is called Fast Picture Viewer, it's as quick as lightning and has some complex and very advanced sorting functions --> but it may take you a bit of time to get up to speed with it as it's interface as it is quite different from Lightroom and Bridge.

Another cheap alternative that I use occasionally is called Zoner Photo Studio and it has a more traditional interface like you find in Lightroom and some of the others. I have not used it for nearly as long as Lightroom, Bridge or FPV but it seems to be cheap alternative that can do the primary sorting and organizational functions that you require.

An excellent system that I used to use alot is ACDSee, and it's been around a long time. Still another affordable system that I know some peeps are happy with is Ashampoo's Photo Commander...but I personally do not use that one.

You might want to checkout the organizational and image management functions offered in the trial versions of some of these systems.

    Best of luck.

    Cheers

      Thanks Don.

I have Adobe CC, so I'll give Lightroom a try. Does it have web-based capabilities? I'll work my way through your list and see what I can figure out!

      Thanks much.

        Hi Jon,

Unfortunately LR is not a web-based system. Best of luck to you.

I see ACDSee now has cloud plans available and one of those might be just what you are looking for.

Install ACDsee Applications on up to as many as 5 machines. Access 365 from anywhere.
Manage, Share and Store all your photos in the Cloud with ACDSee’s Cloud Storage.
    ACDSee 365: Home

    Best of luck!

I have seen a sales program which states you can sell your photos online if you just send them $37 they tell you about it. Is this a gimmick or is there a real opportunity to sell stock photos?

Jon, I do realize that this is an old post, but have you considered simply using Google Drive? You could put the meta-data into documents alongside the pictures, or even into the filenames themselves. No maintenance hassles, and permissions can be assigned very precisely.
