Wow, that's cold. The woman just succumbed to cancer - let's see how funny we can make that.

I dont think anyone was being funny. Her infamous red bikini poster was also made into a t-shirt, and every 12 year old in the 70's had one. And her hair was practically iconic.

      Exactly Mike.
My last wife died from cancer and I didn't find either comment offensive.
When I picture her in my mind it is that poster with that hair.
At the least the poster should be in the Smithsonian.
Man I hate that friggen disease and fell bad and send prayers to anyone who has it or died from it and their loved ones.

I watched part of the film she made about her fight with cancer - thought it would be depressing but it wasn't. The hair was mentioned in it - when she knew she was losing her hair due to treatments. Her sense of fun and her determination to squeeze out every bit of life she could made it a film worth watching. She was a rare one - a sexy starlet who went on to be a serious actress and a woman with incredible will and strength.

Her relationship with Ryan O is one of the great real life love stories in recent years.

Brings me a sense of my own mortality. She was 100 days younger than I am.

Yeah - I remember the hair. It actually did change styles forever. Just something about that post hit me wrong.

Maybe they will make it into gemstones (no not kidding, they can make gemstones from your remains now - a lot of people are doing that).

    Sal,
I'm with you, I also felt that post was in bad taste, but trying to give the OP the benefit of the doubt..........

Farrah was in a class of her own.

Sal was the OP, I assume you're referring to my post... sorry if I offended anyone, if it had been somebody died that anyone here personally knew or was related to I would never make a joke like that, but Farrah was just an image you saw on TV, a celebrity... I see stuff posted here in OT that I find pretty reprehensible and I let slide because of our free-wheeling ways here, and I think my post was pretty mild in comparison, but sorry again if I offended.

        Farrah, RIP, you beautiful woman.

        so sad...

re the hair..everyone I knew back in the 70's tried to replicate the hairstyle...even I did...

but I hope she will be remembered for more then her appearance. From all accounts she was a wonderful person and a good mother. My heart goes out to Ryan O'Neal and the rest of her family.

Was visiting my aunt, first saw the news about Farrah then Michael Jackson. Now all the news for days will be about Farrah and Michael. Farrahs was not unexpected though, she's had cancer for awhile now. Michaels was unexpected. Stories like these should remind everyone of their mortality. Anyone can check out of this life at any time, sick or not.

Actually, I first remember her from the old Noxema shaving cream commercials, where she said "Watch Joe Namath get creamed". She really became known from that commercial, then went on the Charlie's Angels.
