A beer. There isn't much you can do with a dollar in IM.

Most people who I know who have been successful in IM (including myself) have not spent a ridiculous amount of money doing so (besides coaching... possibly).

Start selling stuff. You don't need any money to make a video or an eBook and put it on Clickbank.

You need the $50 Clickbank fee to get the product approved so Clickbank isn't an option if all you have is $1.

Back when I first started selling my own stuff online, I contacted people who were in charge of groups that my product would be perfect for.

It was tedious but it made me sales and some of those organizers became affiliates. We are talking about a 2k product at the time.

I had plenty of days I had to hustle to make rent. When your back is against the wall you can either roll up into a ball or get your hustle on.

My dear Thomas; One of the cornerstones of a good joke, or a good story, is that you don't have to explain every single detail. "Why did the chicken cross the road?"...

"Wait, what's the name of the road? Is it paved? Are there signs? What month is it? It it day or night?"..

You ruined my flow. Now I have to buy two bullets.

Probably the best real answer. But I like my "Claude is full of BS" answer better.

And I still haven't forgiven you for forcing me to be a nice guy earlier. There will be Hell to pay (assuming that "hell" isn't taken literally, and is just a construct of the duality of the human psyche....as metaphor for social anxiety and loss of positive self image)

(I hope you think that's funny.)

WTF is wrong with you? Why do you insist that the chicken needs to justify his actions at all? Isn't this a free country?

You seem to have forgotten to add a little detail yourself -- the bullet that Claude needs for himself is SILVER. Yes, yes - sometimes details are necessary.

            Yep.

I think the word "Sniffle" sort of sums you up nicely.

            I believe a man's worth is measured by what his last name rhymes with;

Riffle rhymes with sniffle and piffle.

Whitacre rhymes with the Norse words for well endowed and magnificent hero.

            • I would personally do substantial research online.

            • Find a mentor.

            • Have lunch.

            • Find another mentor that was free.

            • Go to the pub.

            • Fire that mentor, because he was a bum.

            • Do some more indepth research into future trends.

            • Do more research into statistical analysis.

            • Yet, more research into fluffy bunnies.

            • And then grab my $1, take the plunge.

            • And place it on Black, or should l put it on Red?

Well, not to belabor the point, but rhymes typically have the last syllable in common. Your proposed rhyme seems more like a slant rhyme to me.

I can just hear my southern relatives cryin' out, Oh Good Lawdy, Terra's gone bawdy! = )

Well, hmmm, it takes quite a bit to set it loose. I try to keep it in check, but sometimes, a lady can only take so much. You know, kind of like the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

I've had so much ribbing here lately, that I could feel the beast inside becoming restless. It really wanted to roar, but I only allowed it to hiss. The lady part is still in control, haha!

Terra, for some reason I always think of you as being from the South; not sure why, but there's definitely something a bit "southern belle" about you!

                                      Something about bubble wrap suits.
And then Dan "Goatee Hair Transplant" Riffle, Dennis "The Birdman" Gaskill, and "The Southern Belle" Terra turned it into something sick and disgusting.

                                      Oh, no, no, no.

I'm a northern girl, a yank through and through. All of my southern relatives are by marriage only.

I did live in Texas for about a year quite a few years ago, but I was just a transplant. Oh, and my brother does live in Missouri now, but he's just a transplant too.

But, if you meant that as a compliment...I thank you!

I meant that I am related to some Southerners because one of my Northern relatives married someone from the South. In-laws darling, they are all in-laws, relatives only by someone else's marriage. Not my own. Do you understand that now? Are you sure you're not from the South?

I was looking at Claude's surname, not much to rhyme with it.

I was told though that he likes driving through the streets of Wooster telling jokes through a megaphone.

The locals know him as Claude Wittycar.

Whitacre is one of the most ancient Anglo Saxon names. A town in England has the same name, Claude's ancestors may be English

That name is derived from Whitefield or White Field. (Whit acre)

White field was used to describe an expanse of barren land made of chalk.

Could be describing Claude's Back Yard

I think it's Welsh. Yes, Whitacre was originally White Acre. My family were originally Welsh wheat farmers.

                                                    I really enjoy this.

I'm 4' 11" high when I lay down. Another foot, and I'll be a perfect circle.

I keep hearing stories about people taking my picture, and then returning the phone because of the distortion. But....I really look like that.
Nature has a way of compensating. They made frumpy and uncoordinated...but to balance it out, I'm also pompous and verbose. So, it evens out.
No, your just another person fooled by his prosthetic stilts, difficult to spot.

As for the DNA sample, would it not have been easier to have offered him a cup of coffee and taken a sample from the lipstick left on the cup.

                                                    Probably less fun though!

You should hate Dan, it's his fault. He's the one that said "The way I pronounce it the last syllable is "Ker" with a stress on the k."

See, he pointed out where the emphasis was, so there was no way for me not to hear it as "Ker" in my head, and of course, Ker and cur are homophones.

Dan plotted that homophone connection. It's part of his mind control experiment and I knew it all along, but I figured you'd rather hear it from me than someone else, because, well, because I figured you'd rather hear it from me than someone else.

That Dan, he's always causing trouble.

$1. I thought we agreed on that. And leave your prints on it. ......

No problem. For one dollar I'll rent you my squirt gun. Do you want to come here to get it or would you rather pay shipping charges and have me send it via UPS? Also, let me know if you want it pre-loaded or not. That may raise the shipping cost though.

And everyone is offering to rent me a gun, taunting me with mean evil jabs, and ruining the cadence of my joke.

                You guys suck.

To be fair, now I kind of want to buy one of those clear plastic "whole body bubble wrap" jogging outfits.

What if I were down to my last dollar? Easy. I'd start selling online including Craigslist and eBay.

What??? You can't afford to do that on $1.00???

    Not true with Craigslist

And it is not true with eBay either, although their 21 day hold on PayPal funds is a royal pain for new sellers. Short solution... set up an account and sell a few things ahead of time as a hobby so if you really need it, the capability exists.

Boy, your question really hit home! Haven't thought about it in quite a while, but there was a time when I only had $1 plus... a doberman that was almost out of dog food (a dollar doesn't go very far to feed a doberman).

I worked for a place that shall remain nameless, and after getting paid every 2 weeks, when we went in to get paid we kept getting put off - you'll get paid next week, then in a few days, a few more days, etc.

What really made it bad was I had earned a bonus, a REALLY big bonus and I had been on such a high it made it totally unbelievable. Finally we learned we weren't going to get paid, but we could work with another company (all they did was change company names). And to make it twice as bad was it was 1 week before Thanksgiving.

Things worked out obviously, but it was a horrible time and didn't even go homeless (but certainly wasn't far from it).

Now, back to your original question - If I was down to my last dollar..
      I'd just survive

I've thought about this; What if I had one dollar and was dropped in the middle of a town with no credit cards, and no money, except one dollar. What would I do?

I would go to a Dollar General (or some discount store), and buy something I thought I could sell...for a dollar. Then I'd go door to door, selling it for $5. Then I'd buy 5 more....and repeat. By the end of the day, I'd have enough money for a cheap hotel room, and a meal.

And then I'd buy something more expensive, and repeat.

By the end of the first week, I'd be renting a room by the week, and selling something door to door. Then I'd buy a liquidation, get a cell phone, run some ads..and be in business.

It wouldn't be fun, but I know I could do it.

Years ago, as an experiment once, I bought a box of "No Soliciting" signs for a buck apiece.

I was selling vacuum cleaners, door to door. Some people bought, some didn't. The people that didn't buy? I offered a "No Soliciting" sign for (I think) $10.

I sold hundreds. But after a few months, it wasn't funny to me any more, so I stopped.

But doesn't it cost $5 to start a Fiverr account?

        • I would personally do substantial research online.

        • Find a mentor.

        • Have lunch.

        • Find another mentor that was free.

        • Go to the pub.

        • Fire that mentor, because he was a bum.

        • Do some more indepth research into future trends.

        • Do more research into statistical analysis.

        • Yet, more research into fluffy bunnies.

        • And then grab my $1, take the plunge.

        • And place it on Black, or should l put it on Red?

My first thought was to find a place to sell products that paid commission daily and go there, but your idea is better. Find something quality to buy cheap and sell at a high margin, but still have a low cost per transaction. Smart.

Joe; Thanks. If I were in a city that had a direct selling office, I would walk in, describe what I do...and take the owner with me on a presentation.

By the end of the day, I'd have a Sales Manager job, a pay advance, a place to stay, and a meal. But it would be dependent on having a sales office within walking distance.

But I can do it because I have real sales expertise, and understand how sales offices work.
It's not something I could teach. The "Buy low-sell higher" thing, I could teach.

Oh, and if someone just left me in another country? I'd probably just die. Leave me in a woods? Same thing. I have no skills outside of selling and writing.

Leave me on a desert island alone? Every other person on the planet would be better off than me.

If I was down to my last dollar...

I would create a wso that showed people how to make money with wso's when they only had a dollar.

I then would go to the JV section and partner with one of the guys willing to pay for the wso for a split of the profits.

I would sit back, at the library because of free internet, and watch the sales come in.

Kind of like Dan Kennedy? Only Dan said he'd need a suit and $100.00 to take the challenge.

Personally, I'd just be interested in an independent contractor position. I sell their stuff and they pay me at the end of the day. I could convince them to come and pick me up over the phone.

Exactly. It takes time to learn something like that.

Regarding the original idea, I think I'd focus on something that was expendable or could possibly be used as a gift, especially if it were close to a holiday. After a day or two when I had more to sell I'd then charge $5.00 for one, but I'd tell them that if they buy three or more I'd drop the price to $4.50 each to push volume.

If I was down to my last dollar, I would not focus on spending it. I would instead go to the different writing platforms - fiverr, odesk, iwriter and write some articles to give that dollar some brothers and sisters. Focusing on what you do not have is not a great way to create success. Focus on the skills that you do have and generate income instead.

My Dad was called Wiz at work. Until I was an adult, I thought it was because he peed a lot, or something similar. Then I saw a company (Ford Motor Company) paper that showed him getting an award. It said "Claude "Wiz" Whitacre. I asked my Dad about it, and he said it was because he was a top electrical engineer. Honest to God, I thought they were calling him Whiz.

I was called "Doc" in high school. I think it's because I read a lot, and wore glasses.

I keep seeing Terra as a proper lady. And I keep thinking of Sal as Annie Oakley....with bloodshot eyes, and a hair trigger.
