The person behind this would send you nude (18+) pictures probably and after that claim that they are under the legal age (less than 18) and would blackmail you for money (since you are an Internet Marketer - you must have money...), otherwise they would report you to the authorities...

I've seen cases like this before...

Wow! Of course you can prove how things actually went and get yourself free of all this down the road but getting to that point could be a nightmare you just don't need.

Glad my habit with personal email and social accounts is to NEVER even open items from people I don't recognize immediately as someone I know and trust.

You SEE!!!!! I have been saying ALL ALONG that such things do NOT mean anything! HECK, you could download a program, or get an email, and it could come with who knows what. It could EVEN have child porn. Police, and the public, have to get rid of the idea that one little piece of "evidence" or a thing from one source means anything. And I would have to ask that girl, if she even is a girl, OK, when does it stop? If she has evidence that I paid her, would she then say I paid for the pictures?

The police COULD look at the server logs, and determine HOW it happened, but would they even bother.

Besides, if you are into porn or whatever, wouldn't you be able to show a history of it?

What gets me is that I sometimes find my estimates are off by DECADES! I knew a woman once that looked and acted like she was 13. People were SHOCKED to find she was like 30! A famous singer now looks VERY young. She ACTS young. I would not think she was a day over 15. She is over TWENTY!

I've noticed even here in posts that those who start with Hello Dear or call you Dear in the post are most often spammers.
They usually have very poor English and very English looking avatars. If the avatars are pretty enough, they usually get attention to their 'questions'.

I've tracked a few down and they were, without exception, young Asian males. Hmmm.

If you are a male who is excited by the idea of a strange "young girl" sending you photos...well....

I'm sure there are scams out there, but not all of them are scams. A week ago, I got an e-mail from a very nice girl. I found out that we had a lot in common. She told me that she really likes my posts here, and thinks we have a real connection. So, all my posting is really paying off!

I sent her several pictures of myself, and she sent me pictures of herself. She's working her way through college. And she wants to come to America to meet me!

I sent her money for a plane ticket. WOW! It sure costs a lot to fly overseas.

Today, I'm going to break the news to my wife that I'm in this serious relationship. I wasn't sure it was worth breaking up my marriage, but then my new girlfriend sent me these photos of herself! WOW!

Today, my new girlfriend sent me an e-mail telling me that she couldn't come to the USA, because her brother was in jail....so....another $10,000. And the laws sure are different in other countries. I had to get a certified check for "Cash". But I think all the problems are settled now.

She should be here in a few days.

Hey! Another e-mail from my new girlfriend!

Question. Should I read the e-mail before I tell my wife? Or should I tell my wife, and then read the e-mail?

I don't want to do something foolish.

I get these on Facebook a lot. Now they are here? I would say we should quickly get them banned from this forum...seriously.

Recently I have taken to sending them messages along the lines of "I know you are trying to scam me of my hard earned cash but there are better ways to earn money. See how I am doing it at example.com" The site should be your landing page.

Of course they don't answer me back but hey, they are potential clients.

Nothing new or unique about this, just another take on the nigerian scam (Ironic the name is precious though). Most likely a love scam in this case.

I usually get ones, that crap on, they are into me, and end up being a dating site!

Just sigh up, pay whatever, and this person will want a date with you.

Well, dating someone who lives on the other side of the planet, isn't really viable, unless l am an airline pilot?

Yeah, English, and I am sure OTHER languages, have a fine line. I have had many friends, but I don't think ANY ever said "HI FRIEND" or anything of that sort. If I get an email that says hi friend, hi sweety, etc... I might as well TRASH IT!

          Why are you so skeptical?

Don't you believe in true love? We all have grandmothers. Don't you want to take care of someone's grandmother, if you are going to marry the girl?

For example. The girl I met, I checked out thoroughly. She said her brother was in jail, and so I asked her his name. And she told me. Now, how would she know his name, if this wasn't real?

You skeptics and non-believers are all alike. I come here with a real love story, and you want to dash my dreams of true happiness.

And my new girlfriend doesn't want a down payment for an apartment. She's going to live with me, in my home.

And she has proven to me that she loves me. She even sent me pictures of herself in the nude. Now, wouldn't she have to love me to do that? And the photos looked so....professional.

How can you not believe all this evidence?

I guess, no matter what I say, there will be people that will still doubt. Until the truth is hitting them over the head.

Boy, when she shows up at my door in a week, and I introduce her to you guys...you'll all be sorry you doubted me.

Is this girl from Thailand? Emphasis on the "T" A lot of "T" girls hang out there. They are deceptively attractive and a little bit of photo-shop editing can cover up the truth. I know that you are a sensitive man but I fear this wont end well.

He/She may end up bursting your bubble (which may require surgery) as well as draining your wallet.

Claude your new girl really sounds like a great person. If she has a sister that is over 18 (and not in jail) please ask her to introduce me to her. My recent stroke is making me very happy to meet new 18 years old. My doctors tell me this will definitely speed up my recovery.

Since I just got hit up over first 7 day hospital bill for $37,000.00 and there is another one for 14 more days coming in on Monday or Tuesday that will be up around $40 to 50 thousand dollars and some odd cents, she may have to pay her own way over.

I'm pretty sure my wife will appreciate her helping me bathe, sit on the commode and wipe my ... and the drool off my face. Now what can I give her?

18 to 20 hour work days that will keep her so busy she won't have time to miss her beloved sister that introduced us and her brother in jail. On top of that she will feel right at home, as I'm sure her grandmaw is somewhat younger than I am.. So no worries about homesickness for the grandmaw.

I'm really anxious to meet her so I will recover quicker as the doctors said it will make me speed up my rehab and get back to running the triathlon in the old warrior forum home for the mostly old folks that hang in here. By the way please tell her to just call me "old fart" or "limp...
            (oops! can't say that word).

            Looking forward to meeting her.

Ken; I told me wife about my new girlfriend, but she just said "Really? I'd love to meet her".

I don't think my wife takes these things seriously.

I thought I was going to pick up Shirley (Her real name is Lei, but I promised to keep it a secret) this morning at the airport. But she e-mailed me and told me that she is held up at customs, and she has to pay a $10,000 fine for not declaring a gift she bought me (Further proof that her love is real). So I sent the money order (Everyone seems to want them made out to cash)
But I think this is it.

Boy, will my wife be surprised.

I asked if she has a sister. She does, and it will cost another $12,000 for a plane ticket for her too. Again, make it out to cash. If you send me the money, I'll pay out of my funds, and you can pay me back. But I get to choose which one I keep. fair is fair.

              I'm soooooo excited.

                Claude,

Being fair may not work this time around as one of these young ladies may be ugly as sin and insist on wearing clothes. You paying the 12K money order, made out to cash, out of your funds does sound very "fair is fair". And I of course will pay you back out of my next social security "cost of living raise". Once again a very "fair is fair" repayment plan.

Hurry and send off the 12K as my wife is somewhat like your wife as she said whatever...

It seems that half of my emails are from scammers and phishers. I'm sure I dismiss some legitimate emails because the scammers have gotten better at it through the years.

Problem is they sent it via email so not sure of their username. They found my website through my signature and then emailed through the email address on my website knowing I'm a WF member and using that to their advantage.

I know not related, but this is an 'old school' scam that was going around a few years ago but seems to have gotten a bit more traction of late and I've just received it:

    "Dear Sir/Madam,

About the "marketingbees". We are the department of Asian Domain Registration Service in China. Here I have something to confirm with you. We formally received an application on August 16th, 2014 that a company claimed "TanHing Towan Co" were applying to register "marketingbees" as their Net Brand and some "marketingbees" Asian countries top-level domain names through our firm.

Now we are handling this registration, and after our initial checking, we found the name were similar to your company's, so we need to check with you whether your company has authorized that company to register these names. If you authorized this, we would finish the registration at once. If you did not authorize, please let us know within 7 workdays, so that we could handle this issue better. After the deadline we will unconditionally finish the registration for "TanHing Towan Co" Looking forward to your prompt reply.

(It's very urgent, so please transfer this email to your CEO or appropriate person. Thanks a lot.)

    Best Regards,

    Alice Liu"

I know it's slightly off-topic but still a scam and particularly bad for IMers.

They did this for my car rental business. They want you to panic and buy the variations of your domain name from them as affiliates. It's been over two yearsand those variations have not been purchased!

Sounds like there is ring of perverts - I had a similar encounter yesterday on Skype. It was a Polish name and they requested to be added as a contact - since it could be a prospect I approved it -

She said 'Hi, I got your user name from the members directory' - (hi) - 'oh good somebody to talk to' (ok)

'Do you want to exchange pictures or do web cam'? (not really I am pretty busy working right now)

Oblivious to what I said she sent a link and said 'You have to certify that you are over 18 before I can show you my ________.'

    All within 2 seconds,
    I said (Get lost Perv)
    I blocked her
    I reported her for abuse

The sad part is that will cause her not even a blip on the radar ('Perv')? There will be 100 takers - it is amazing how pervasive this particular perversion is online. It is also amazing how many people that are busted for murder and other serious crimes are into porn and child porn.

    It's a sick freaking world...

LOL, fair enough, but unfortunately once you post on a dating site, then this sort of scum comes out of the woodwork.

      So much for the girlfriend!

However imagination is cool but I have to remember how to use it.

      Ken; This really happened.

I was speaking at a convention in Baltimore. I went to supper with a few friends of mine, into as restaurant that had..well....high prices.

I was hungry. I looked at the steak prices, and told a friend "I'm not paying $50 for a 10 ounce steak."

A lady friend said "You're so damn cheap!"

My male friend said "Don't worry about it, my treat".

I said "No. I can't let you pay. I'm not cheap! I have $50...I'm just not willing to spend it on a steak"

And my lady friend said "Well, isn't that the very definition of cheap?"

We all laughed, because the clarity of it struck us all. Yup. I'm cheap.
