Our partner acquisition funnel is broken. Help me fix it pretty please.

We are offering folks the opportunity to get for free what firms will charge $25,000 for. We help them start their own small business funding brokerage armed with our technology. You get the knowledge and NO tech from the other guys.

We have taken to the cesspool that is Craigslist because we already know that our target audience spends time there trying to get leads... And you can't beat the amount of traffic you get for the buck.

We get super enthusiastic emails, voicemails, calls on Sunday, etc. But here's the math on Craigslist so far.

We send them through our filter - and and no one is making it out.

Here's the filter...
  1. Click ad. = 283 people.
  2. View opportunity. = 283 people.
  3. Connect LinkedIn = 116 people.
  4. Answer 5 "top grading" sales persons type of questions. = 30 people.
  5. Complete challenge. The challenge? Generate a lead and we'll buy it from you! = 1 person.

This is for our partner program. We have a lead generator program we're now forced to ship overseas... One value ad to being a partner is that you could get served up these leads from our lead generators to close.

CLEARLY - Craigslist is not my target market. I should be upgrading to LinkedIn, Angel List, etc. However, should I position as a commission only job or a business opportunity? Should I narrow my funnel at the top and require SOME sort of up front commitment?

We figured the fact that we don't ask for any money up front was our unique selling point...

Any advice is helpful. Thanks a lot!

What if you made it as an add on opportunity
to existing businesses...say finance brokers as an example?
