Meet and greet, mixers for potential clients

What do you think about the idea of hosting a meet and greet type mixer for your offline clients? This idea could work if you are a real estate or life insurance agent or have a tangible product that can be demonstrated at the event. Would you be able to implement this idea as a way to market y our business offline? Could it be adapted for an online service or business?

Before I recently sold my Web Design business, I tried to have one of these at least every other month. It was good to not only get your current clients to talk with each other and develop a community, but they would bring in "New" prospects, to share in the experience.

I did / do have the luxury of a 3000 sq ft work space so I was able to do this in my "Office" which allowed me to show not only my web services but also my Vinyl and large format printing.

And anyways I am "Southern" so it was an excuse to bust out the grill and share my Southern roots through food with a bunch of redneck yanks! ha ha

Meet Up groups are great. What I have done in the past, is speak to group of Realtors and Contractors. Gave them a free training on Internet/SocialMedia/Lead Generation. Some do it themselves but others came up after the event and got my business card. Then I followed up with them. Works great !!!

I have/had clients that do that.

One does it 2 times a year, in their front yard and office area. They invite current clients and future ones, to show them the new things they have for sale and show them how such things would benefit them.

They always invite some of their vendors too (they promo items).

They grill lots of stuff, have beers, pop, and lots of fun.

    Works out nicely for them.

The others do it randomly, smaller scale, and it works too.

I think you could twist it to so they could also mingle and possibly do business with each other.
