European Sales Millionaires

This question might be odd.

I have been in recruitment for some time. Recruitment is a sales job. My manager made 10k and did very well for himself in recruitment.
Now I am in an "complex sales environment". I have a entry job (i cold call for meetings).

I had a conversation with a sales director from one of our partners and he told me how he started years ago with the same type of job I have.

My next logical step will probably be account management (an outside sales job, with less cold calling).

However, when I look around at all account managers i work with and have been working with, .. they make 6k max. I have a buddy of mine, who is a sales manager for a big company, and he earns around 6k. He has 5 year more experience then me. So, in that regard, my future money wise doesn't look that bright or I need to go another route with the cold calling skill I am accumulating.

So, here is my question. I may come across like I am all about the money but I am just curious.

Is the "making it rain" kind of sales world only something for sales guys in Sillicon Valley, NY and other big companies in America, or does this actually exists in Europe?
I have heard people making into the 6 figure saleries. I have heard about how sales job are one of the best jobs to make big bucks if you are great. Is everybody around me not that great then? Is there are world I am simply not seeing (def. possible,, when you get older you realise there are many, many worlds you have never seen, and they are there) and how do I enter it? (i am not looking for a magic pill. I also understand it can take years and years. However, 5-6 years to make 5-6k doesn't seem that appealing to me. eventhough 6k would be a lot for me at this point)

Could somebody give me some insights on this matter?

So, cliff note. I wonder if the rich sales guys and girls really exist in the world outside of the land of possibilities, America.

    Sales is absolutely the best place to be to get rich. No question about it. Why? Because every single person on planet Earth is a salesperson. They just don't know it. The people who learn how to sell and grind out the process are the ones who can get to the top. The top 500 richest people in the world are all sellers. They have an idea, a process, a product, a government, a system, or something else to sell. So, it's good that you recognize sales is the place to be.

    There is no reason you have to take the average route. The biggest limitation you will face has nothing to do with your product or your industry. Your biggest limitation is yourself.

    Never, ever think in terms of "average" sales, average living, average hours worked. Average only works as long as things are going well. As soon as some crisis comes in the economy, your family, your country, or your city - average becomes a dangerous place. People who were playing at average levels are hurt the most when things go bad.

    There are most certainly people who are making millions in recruiting. The goals just get bigger. Sure, maybe the top people in your current situation only make $6k - so what? This goes back to what I said in another thread of yours.

    You need to push so hard for the next few years that your success will propel you forward. There HAS to be a next step in your industry where people earn more. No matter what industry you are in, there are people earning millions.

    Why not make it your goal to move up to the next income level every 2 years?

    And - don't apologize for thinking about and pursuing money. Money is the foundation of wonderful experiences in my life. Anyone who says money isn't one of the most important things in life has simply never had any. Anyone who says money can't buy happiness simply doesn't know where to shop. Giving to the people I love and helping people in need gives me more joy than any other experience I have ever had. You want to truly be happy? Fight hard to be able to provide for others. That WILL make you truly happy - no question about it.

    Stop thinking average. Stop being afraid to desire money. Stop hiding from your deep desires to hit it big. Look yourself in the mirror and KNOW that you SHOULD make as much money as possible. Do whatever it takes to reach your success goals.

    If you need to move to another country - do it. If you need to jump into another company - do it. If you need to work more hours - do it. Right now, I guarantee there are things you are avoiding doing that you know you should do.

    Should + Could + Won't = Disaster
    Should +Could + Done = Winning

    Whatever that next step is for you to raise your income, take it now. Do it. Go for it. Get it. Make it happen. Your future self will thank you.
