Management Fee for FB Ads for clients

Just wondering if you are doing Facebook Ads for your local clients and what your management fee is?

I have done FB ads but just been approached by a local business owner, they will pay for the FB ads but wondering what other people are charging.

Thanks

I don't think there's been a client I've had in the last few years that I've charged JUST for setting up or running the campaign. I've usually packaged it in with another service, otherwise it's hard for them to justify the monthly fee.

    Most common are:

1.) Percentage of ad spend. I've seen it go from 5% all the way to 25%. The ones with 25% usually go under pretty quickly and have a lifetime customer span of 2-4 months. It seems to me that 10-15% extends the life of the customer, keeps you afloat and doesn't kill the margins of your client.

2.) Fixed fee... usually ideal for low budget spenders. So if you have someone who is just wanting to spend $300/mo in FB ads, you can't justify the time involved for 10% of the spend, you need to charge some kind of flat fee. I'd recommend setting a reasonable setup fee, then a small monthly maintenance fee.

3.) Paid per acquisition. Basically you're selling leads. A guy that came to work for me, actually worked for a PPC company in LA before, and they were paid per conversion. They set up a tracking number on the landing page along with a form so they could effectively track the conversions but I'm sure they still let a few slip through the cracks. They did a lot in billings, so I'm guessing it worked but I personally can't see that working for myself or for most people.

You want to stay away from charging hourly, for sure.

I have kind of flipped this model on its ear a bit with my clients. As iAm mentioned, sometimes its hard to place a price on this stuff. I finally worked through and set price based on the actual post itself. I tend to create images, ( mimi's - I hate that term ) so it makes the concept easy. A set of 8 images a month ( 2 a week ) I charge $450.00 for. The charge is specifically for the image creation, but I will over see the campaign at no additional charge.

I am charging for a tangible.. vs the service itself.

Thanks for both of your replies, it really helps.

Within your $450/m charge, you include 8 images & you over see the campaign. Does your client pay for the Facebook Ads themselves, with their own credit card? or are you paying for this with your own credit card?

Last question you run 2 campaigns a month, what is the ad spend limit per campaign?

      Thanks

Yes, the client pays for the campaigns. Because I work within a local market the budget for these are not that large. I had one client that was spending $5.00 a day every day, and that was it. actually now that I think about it, I might say that was the average campaign spend with more than most of my clients.

As to the number of campaigns... I was not running 2 a month.. at the least 8, most cases about 16 or so, and in some cases one every day. remember as a client stays within my program the number of images multiply. There simply are going to be ads that work better than others. I simply mix the historically working ads in with the new batch.

Not all of the images were "Ads" many of them, probably about 50% a month are designed to get follower interaction, such as; "If a song were to describe how you feel today, what song would you be?" or "Good morning its Monday the <insert date> Im as excited as you are... would it be wrong to call in sick?"

If you have not figured out by now, I use much of the same content across ALL of my clients. Change the background image here or there, and its all new and fresh.

A good way to go about doing this for sure.

  • This would be paired great if you did complete social media management.

Thing included would be stuff like:

    1) Setting up a like revealer (which you could outsource if you didn't know how to do it)
    2) Posting twice a day at optimal times for their clientele
    3) Tracking and implementing user engagement
    4) Creating photos for FB ads
    5) Implementing and a/b testing FB ads

    Did I miss anything?

This could go for a pretty penny for sure
