I Want to hire someone to close web design clients, is that a good idea?

I offer web design services to clients that don't have website or have poor ugly outdated websites.

I normally approach these clients with free mockup of the new look of their sites and if they like the design they'll ask me to call them.

The problem is when i call them i don't hear what they're saying, they're all from U.S and i am not from U.S, so i don't understand their english tone. even when watching american movies i'll have to use english subtitles.

so i decided to look for someone from U.S who'll close these qualified leads for me and we'll split the profit.

Is that a good idea?

And also anyone hear from U.S who'll volunteer, this is not cold calling, i've already send demo of website and they're interested and want me to call to close the deal.

I've already lost 3 clients because of saying, "what did you say" or " didn't hear you" when they're tired they just hang up.

Thanks

Where are you from? Why not go local?

No one is going to close deals for you and split your measly $800 profit. I'm willing to bet that your leads are not even warm. Probably people just asking you to call back at a later time, or send an email just to get you off the phone.

I'm not trying to be an asshole. Just telling you what's going to happen.

Maybe you should stick to emailing and freelance websites. If you have someone that is willing to call for you that's great but you'll likely find it very difficult to find someone that will, and will be able to close deals when you can't understand them and don't know if they're any good or not.

Well I guess there is a "cover for every pot" LOL

Honestly : few people are going to go out and sell your websites , if they have real sales skills they could go out and sell websites and outsource them and keep 90% of the profits right?
Or get local kids in school to make the sites and sell them for like 75%

Trying to Skype and email with someone in another country and find leads, pay for gas, advertising? Not something I would do but I guess you found a taker???

I couldn't disagree more... most people with real sales skills that are looking for a job are rarely ever a threat to do something like that. Sales is only one part of the equation. I have seen people with excellent sales skills completely fail in running a business.

Maybe we can agree to disagree?

I think there are tons of "website salesperson" ads on craigslist. Why would someone pick a designer in another country when you can get hired (on commission) immediately here?

While I grant you that most salespeople won't actually start their own deal, I think most would prefer a real person/designer in their own city, available to clients etc.

Not an easy field to break into there are so many web designers and people calling biz with seo offers etc. There are companies here that have phone rooms to set appointments, that spend money on advertising - yet still hard to find good salespeople from what I see.

If you want to do business in NA and can't speak enough english to close a sale, make learning the language a priority. If you're serious about this, you'll do it! Focus on that.
