Are Using Flyers A Dying Breed?

Hello,

I am thinking of going to a couple colleges and promoting ads like netflix, gamefly, cheap books, etc.

Has anyone done this and had success? If so, what approach did you have?

Thanks

It doesn't sound like you would get much return out of your idea. However, there are plenty of products where mail in marketing would be ideal. This just doesn't seem to be one of them. Just my humble opinion.

Think of where most college kids are spending all day long now.... Their phones. Pretty much paying attention to social media and messaging. This is where the attention is.

While yes, there are ads and print and flyers all other the place, they are NOT paying attention to those, and are wasting big corps big money. Trust me

Go faceb or Twitter ads, but you need to target, test, repeat.

You will need to test this yourself.

In my offline business i have been using flyers very effectively to target language students at colleges, universities very well. I have even tried local communities but it must be targeted and your message very clear on your flyer.

    Good luck

Everything is dying. Ask anyone haha

I hear direct mail is dead, email is on life support and offline marketing
in general is over with.... usually perpetuated by those selling online
      marketing services.

I like flyers, if done right. I think in this particular situation it could
help get some conversions. Just don't use it solely. Maybe connect
it to a facebook page to inspire interaction and funnel filling.

I like an ad to do one of 2 things
      1. Create a lead or...
      2. Make a sale
Number one has to be your fail-safe. Move them into your pipeline at
the very least. It's up to you to usher them to the promised land from there

    It will never die.

All you're effectively doing is imparting information. Take me, for instance. Right now, today, I'm on the lookout for antiques. If you dropped a flyer through my letterbox today, I'd check out the web address, no question. You imparted the information that I want.

    But here's the thing...

You're using a fairly saturated method. I can still work - and very well indeed - but you need to think out of the box.

    - Offers
    - How You Present Information on Flyers
    - How You Present Information on the Landing Page.
