I know being in a state of certainty is very important for success but how do I achieve this? I'm not a very visual person so can not visulisate well at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks ever so much!

It's not something that can be manufactured. And can be fleeting once you do have when you are still in the pre-fight build-up phase. Feelings of doubt and dread can afflict you even when most of the time you have complete conviction and certainty that, barring any major life disasters, if you carry on with what you are doing you can't help but win and achieve what you set out to do. It's often a ongoing battle with yourself, that takes constant attention and awareness to make sure you overcome the doubts, and self-defeating thoughts and feelings.

I watched the Wolf of Wall Street the other night, which is a great film and the went back through Jordan Belfort's course on Straight Line Persuasion Sales Psychology earlier on which I couldn't take to before the film for some reason, where he was talking about beliefs. Empowering ones and dis-empowering ones, which I normally tune of out as it's often rehashed motivational self-help stuff that doesn't work by itself, but he was talking about the point that you can't replace a negative belief just by saying saying it's opposing affirmation to yourself a hundred times and trying to convince yourself, or simply sitting their seeing the opposite (which is different from the usual crowd) and I knew he was talking from experience and not just reciting typical self-help stuff.

He made a metaphor that a belief, an empowering or limiting one, is like a table top. It needs legs to be stable and hold it up.

Then he said he had a belief he was good at sales. And the legs that held that belief up and gave it a concrete reality in real life, was facts like he'd made a lot of money, he closed a lot of people, he trained others up to be great sales people, he broke records, and those real things helped prop up the belief and strengthen it, until it becomes a conviction you hold at your core.

The fact it, you can't fake certainty. You need real reasons for why you feel certain beyond just a personal feeling or whimsical belief, or trying to fool yourself. I realized this quite a while back. I needed to build the real mechanisms, methods, plans, strategies and revenue models into my business that have been proven to be solid countless times by other people. So those factors could then prop up my belief and certain of success. I've incorporated only the best of the best methods and strategies from people who actually embody what they teach and proven them, and what I know works and is universal from my own life.

Without those, just relying on trying to convince myself I will be successful there would be no way I could sustain it and persist how I have in the face of considerable obstacles.

I have doubts. Ands feeling of dread comes over me, like it did earlier, when I realized how much I've taken on for myself, questioned whether could I really do this, am I kidding myself. I revised my plan of attack and have lightened my load as a result. And because I've set myself up with some many chances to profit, and put in the blood, sweat and tears to learn what I was doing in depth, that feeling of certainty and assuredness overpowers the doubts.

In other words, you simply have to create good, logical, real-world reasons for why you believe something, one that statistically put the odds of success in your favour, and then have to manage your emotional state when it looks like its going to overwhelm and make you doubt yourself, which it will in the beginning, no matter how mechanically perfect your set up is, and easy and straight-forward you've made your processes. But with one in place, it's far easier to return to that relaxed and positive state of certainty. And that's what it is. It's a physical, emotional and psychological state that feels right about something, centred and assured, backed with solid reasons for why your success is likely, as opposed to lying awake in bed at night freaking out questioning whether you're deluding yourself or not.

I can't see any other way other than you have to build solid mechanisms and systems into your business, just like building a computer network, that consistent lead to predictable outcomes, and really have a massive do or die attitude to get them the done and bring things into reality, but because certainty alone won't do that. Trying to convince yourself of success when you don't have them is even more pointless.

I've sort that sense of certainty for a long while, where feelings of stress, desperation and worry dissipate and things seem clear and the right course of action to focus on next seems natural, and it's a much better way to operate. I think it will only really cement itself and become default and instinctive with repeated reinforcement of success in that endeavor you want to feel certain about.

Or a another way, to put it more concisely, is to put in so much graft, hard-work, effort, thought, financial investment, care and sacrifice that you actively and personally start expecting success to happen, that it's inevitable and natural, that you've paid the price, took the stairs, and now just down-right deserve your reward since you earned it, and want to collect.

When you've done that, success stops being a mystery anyway, because you more clearly realize it's a consequence of the right actions and attitude. That realization and insight brings certainty in itself. The only problem then is dealing with people who doubt you or others who think they are know better than you and try to point out why it won't work and want to make you doubt yourself for whatever reason. Stay away from them.

  • Certainty is a mindset, and is clear in your tonality.

Everything you say.... and the way that you say it... create certainty.

    Underground covered everything else... lol

    Read, read, read.

You need to download other thoughts in your brain and weed out the garbage you are accumulating trough media (3000 commercials a day trying to tell you who you are not and with their product you will become).

Stop social media, stop watching tv. Keep it to your 1 or 2 favorite shows. Find mentors. Ask, ask, ask. Read good shit.

That's my biggest accomplishment this year. I am getting more and more certain about my goals in life each day. Bit by bit. Moment by moment.

Be happy you found this forum. Some really ambitious and smart people now belong to your tribe.

    We are in this together!

    • take small steps.

      do AAIF.

      1. "act As If" want you want IS Going To Happen.
And, do it as much as possible.

      2. Leverage your existing certainties
A good question is : What am Certain about right now?
Then, What could I be certain of if I wanted to?

          I have no clue!

because it's human nature to see patterns???
and, we want to be consistent???
as well as not be hypocritical (act a certain way, and you know peers then expect it)

so if you make an "assumption" like,

"today I will handle sales objections better",
you will look back and see the ways you have done it better.

the pattern is Cause and Effect, we build as being real, and Self-Fulfilling prophecy at work????

Is a women attracted to a confident man or the display of confidence she perceives?

When you sell, does it help that prospects "see" that you believe???

Can you Act As If, what you sell will help anyone you talk to?

I think so. Human nature and Effecting (Persuasion) other people

this is off the top of my head. I could be wrong...often times I am.
