Watching everyone bounce from 1 idea to the next

I'm lurking newbies, watching their track records....

I'm seeing people bounce from one money making idea or WSO to the next.

I was told by a great marketer, that "the key to success is to stick to one thing, even if its not working keep going"

Just throwing it out there for all my fellow business men, whom are bouncing from one lilly pad to the next lilly pad with no idea of the concept behind consistency

Good luck and God speed

And you think this is good advice? Some things don't work for a really good reason. Spun articles and spammed backlinks comes to mind. There are hundreds more. Things that worked in the past might not work now.

The trick to success is to find a business model that makes real sense and stick to that. The problem you find here is that people embrace all sorts of things that are absolutely ridiculous and shout "TAKE ACTION!" all the do dah day. Kinda sad...

I'm talking about more legitimate practices in the marketing game, more directed towards sales and customer satisfaction

But there are some people on WF that bounce off whatever concept of marketing works for someone else than tries to emulate themselves but i suppose thats human nature no idea is original

The ones that crack me up are all the so called "arbitrage"....the idea that you can easily get local businesses to hand over nice sums of money and then run to "Fiverr" and just have them make the website, do the seo or whatever. That seems to be wayyy overworked

There are a lot of reports that probably don't work in the "real world".

Some seem to gloss over the fact that you have to consistently call and re-call and email set appointments, and so forth just to get a business owner to sit down with you and pay attention.

You and Kloudstrife are both right!... People need to have an attitude of "sticktoitness" a new word I just came up with. lol and they need to watch out for a lot of the internet marketing strategies, and make sure they work in the present. Something that worked two years ago, is probably over the hill in the present, except for good solid direct marketing strategies, which are evergreen.

I personally attribute the "bounce" to traffic specifically. They develop a site and then it stops. They do 1 of 2 things. they somehow think if they build it they will come, and get not traffic.. then the attribute the failure to a saturated market. OR the send traffic by paid means and attribute the lack of conversion to being sent "bot" traffic.

Building a site is a process. Building traffic is a process. Developing conversions is a process.

There are basically 3 type of websites in the world. there are e-commerce sites, there are lead gen sites, or there are informational sites. Money can be made from all 3.

Once you have a success with any ONE of those types of sites, in theory you should be able to replicate that success with a second site, a third etc.

The easiest of the 3 is building a e-commerce site. The conversion element is built right into this site model. you display a product, you give a price, they buy, you fulfill. Basic easy stuff.

Lead Generation as it pertains to the vast majority of folks on Warrior Forum is your basic squeeze page. Send traffic to a page, to obtain their e-mail address in exchange for a free report. This part of the process is easy enough. But its the sales part I think that get most in trouble. You now have to start developing e-mails and selling to your list. Headline - Benefits - Opt-in are a far cry from "selling"

The 3rd one, your basic blog.. you write, and introduce offers in the writing specifically, or use the side bar to send traffic to offers. This model can produce results. Seriously how many "Review Sites" are out there. but the traffic factor here does become an issue.

Ultimately this model also requires the use of the above Lead Gen Model to develop a list. So no longer are you developing success on one model but trying to develop results based on the blend of 2 models, and failure for most is eminent.

So as I see it, the secret to success is to either get into the e-commerce model, or learn and master e-mail marketing. <-- the element not discussed much on the Warrior Forum much in specifics... but specifically it is this that dictates SUCCESS.

Bouncing from one idea to the next? Oh boy, can I identify with that! I spent many years doing just that and I didn't make a cent while spending thousands of dollars looking for the magical golden key that doesn't exist. I would probably still be doing this if I hadn't found a mentor to show me what to do and, more importantly, for me, how to do it.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I would not stick with something even if it is not working, but I do think most people jump around to much.

You have to give yourself a chance to make money before you quit and move on to something else. You need to honestly assess whether you are really working on something before giving up on it.

      • Isn't that something most of us are guilty of at a certain point early on in our online marketing career? I for one am! The first time things started working out for me was when I uncluttered my brain and just did the thing I was asked to do. There have been times when things really do not work out despite your best efforts. But one needs to give it the time it really needs.

Difficulties do not always meant time to quit.

Ask yourself how you'd feel about quitting the project or path ten years down the road.
