So i've been doing postcard marketing for a few months and at first i just looked up people in white pages mailed them out and got nothing. This time just on Friday i sent out two cards to opportunity buyers that said.

card 1. If this postcard showed you how to become financially independent, would you keep it or throw it away?

card 2: Learn about an exciting business opportunity that is cut above anything you have ever done before. and learn how you can start acquiring financial freedom like so many have from all over the world.

What am i doing wrong i'm looking for people to join my business but i just feel like my messages are lame any help?

also i do add my website and phone number on the card

These cards were green with a photo saying financial freedom just ahead etc

What can i do to make my message better? i'm in mlm and really don't want to sell an affiliate product i want people who are interested in a home based business.

these are opportunity buyers got them from mlm labels still have 200 left to send out.

any help?

  • You sent it out to 2 people and expected results?

MLM is actually disliked by many people, I am sure it is a numbers game but your warm market (people you know, family , friends, neighbors, etc) is where to start

I hate to say it but just mailing a few flyers won't cut it. I would throw it away no offense but let's be real here. I think you need to rethink this whole thing

Also in MLM you have a so called "sponsor" don't you ...why not ask him./her?

    • I think he or she means that she was sending out 2 different cards to her prospects. Perhaps split testing the cards.

I do happen to agree with you about MLM though and I wish I could give proper advice but I can't. I don't have a lot of experience with it and never care to.

  • I mean no disrespect.

But you have no idea what you are doing. Don't mail out the other 200 cards. Hire a copywriter from here to write the cards for you. I don't have the 10 hours that it would take to tell you all that you are doing wrong.

Hire the copywriter (Bob Ross or Ewen Vile may help you), and you'll get some results.

There are no amount of "tips" that are going to help you. It's a very complex education you need. Just hire it out.

  • The first card says would you keep it or throw it away. You basically just told them to throw it away lol. No worries we all start somewhere.

Also, post card marketing is very very outdated. No worries once again, Im sure you got the idea from someone. The real truth is most network marketing companies aren't up to date with real marketing. They have the networking side down, but it's called network marketing for a reason.

Check out this video, it will show you how to build online with way less friction. Home Business Labs

    Hope that helps
  • Thank you guys i ended up switching my whole message on my postcard and sent out 150 last friday so far i have four people who are interested in my business
  • I was very surprised to find this thread. At first I thought I was in the OFF TOPIC forum and this was a joke thread.

By "post card marketing" are you referring to mailing post cards randonly via the US post office?

For me personally unless a friend of mine is on vacation and sends me a post card there is NO WAY that any post card in my mail box does not go straight into the trash bin that is in my driveway. Never makining it into the house and never read closely.

I consider mail post cards to be SPAM. I would strongly suggest a change of tactics.

    • You are not the target audience, so what you do with the cards is irrelevant.

You have never received a good one. You've only received spammy ones.

Read the OP's addition: sent out a bit over 100 of them, got 4 people to show interest. A bit on the low side, but not bad. Plus, the OP is only interested in the 4 that don't think the postcards are spam.

Change of tactics is not required.

If this is not a fluke, the OP found a way to control future revenue in a precise manner.

When the OP wants 3 times the money, the OP sends out 135x3 of this type of card. Wants 12 times the money, sends out 12x135 cards.

There's poetry in there! And heavenly music.

You need a catchy headline. Those headlines are nice but they don't GRAB my attention. Also, who are you marketing to? Individuals or businesses?

    • MLM is Network Marketing. The key word being "network". If you want to build your business you need to talk to people. Not send them postcards.

I get why you want to send postcards. Because it seems like an easy way to build a downline. The reality of it is, building a downline in MLM is one of the toughest things you can do. And doing it passively by sending postcards won't work 99.9% of the time. You need to talk face-to-face with people. That's why MLM companies have all those parties.

Do you believe in the product? I mean really believe in the product? Not just use it because you hope to make money from it someday. If you truly believe it in, then use the product to get whatever results it promises and then tell people about your results. If it's all it's cracked up to be you will build your downline. But it will also take time.

      Good luck!

  • Wow thanks guys. Came back to this thread months later and have switched everything up. I'm now offering a service along with the business opportunity on my postcards that sells for $40.00 but i make $80.00 for every referral. And learned what to actually say on the postcards just sent 400 cards out last week and got 15 sign ups.

and i'm mainly using get rich quick and opportunity buyers to sell my opportunity now.

    Thanks for the advice!

    • @ DABK-

Not to hijack the thread, but I just saw this...

"I assume you mean, I loves me some, Nathan. (Either way is fine with me, just wanting to be sure.)"

Well played, sir. Ya got me !

But I typed it as I meant it. I DO loves me some Nathan, much like I also loves me some Claude, Big Frank (Sarcasm is GOOOOD...heh !), and lately even some Peter Lessard. These are just a few of my heroes on the WF, and by no means is it the entire list. There are others as well. Ewen comes to mind here.

I'm nobody's marketing guru, but these guys are living it. They all clearly speak from experience, and when they have occasion to set someone straight, it can be as funny as it is practical and useful. And after this spanking, I'll be watching YOU a bit more closely too, mister.

      Thanks,

  • You have to go through the numbers. It's a numbers game. Try internet marketing and dont rely so much on the offline people-based marketing. IM works out better in the long run. You will be less disappointed if you do it right. Much success.

    • Congrats on your recent success with the post cards. You're obviously persistent and have a burning desire to succeed. With those two character traits, you'll never fail!

For my two cents worth, I'd just encourage you to really build relationships with the people that you recruit into your company, and empower them to build big businesses themselves. When you do that, the number of people you have to recruit drastically goes down.

Basically, there are two parts to network marketing:

      1) Finding people to use your product or service
      2) Finding others who want to make extra money or fire their boss, and show them how to do the same thing.

It sounds like you're really good at moving your product or service and even recruiting people into your organization, but until you can show others how to do the same thing -- and thus create duplication -- all of the burden for generating income rests on your shoulders.

The whole beauty of network marketing is that somewhere down the road (in the next 12 or 24 or 36 months or so... it's all up to you), you'll have created enough leaders and empowered enough people to
succeed that you won't have to work anymore because of the momentum and residual income being
      generated in your organization.

So, in addition to recruiting people, spend some time with them as a mentor and coach, and help them do
      the following two things:

      1) Show them how to find a constant supply of hot prospects to talk to,
      2) Give them the exact word-for-word skills that they can use to talk to prospects and turn them on to joining your opportunity.

When you do these two things, the number of people you and your recruits need to talk to in the numbers
game grows much smaller, and your success much nearer.

      All the best!
  • Is it MCA by any chance?
  • Your message needs to identify a Problem and give a solution. When a person reads the first line it needs to capture their attention by identifying a problem they can relate too. Then give them the solution. I hope this helps you.
