Getting Organic Links for SEO Clients

What are some of the best resources you guys have found (Paid or free) for local organic links. We have no problem finding citations but organic links can be difficult to come across.

Any ideas or ways we can do this outside of buying links on a PBN?

First rule of SEO is look and see what the other guy is doing. Go and look at the backlinks of every website on the first page that you want to on. Figure out what the other guy is doing and then follow and repeat.

If that does not help then go and buy a few reports from a company like Link Prospector | Citation Labs Link Prospector.

Real SEO is not easy and will take a lot of work to do it the correct way, but you want to do it the correct way or you will just be wasting your time and money in the end.

I personally find that good quality "No Follow" linking is a pretty decent place to start. Incorporate a decent social strategy that includes G+ as a focus, and you really cant go wrong.

    Blog Posting + Feedburner + G+ = solid results.

Yeah I find that to be good for nation wide SEO but for local SEO its a bit overkill. No need for blog posting + feedburner.

I'm so glad to see someone mention no follow link building having positive results. Yes, nofollow won't increase your PR but it will increase the trust rank of your site if they are high quality.

I have found No follow to be where its at. Target the pages you link from, based on CONTEXT, and its all good.

In regards to Local vs National SEO. I am sure we will differ on opinion here, but national SEO.. no city and state. Local? get the city and state in there, as tho it is a target word. it works for me what can I say?

Get a list together of all the business's with websites (non competing) in the vicinity of your client. Give them a call (or email then follow up with call) explain that your the marketing guy for said business and you would like to swap links, how its good for them as well etc etc

I like this for 2 reasons, for local search I believe reciprocal links with others in the same area is powerful and its a great way to network with other business owners in the area.

Yeah this is a great idea. Local links like this from the city are hard to come by but seem extremely powerful for the local organic searches.

There's some great ideas from the social stuff as well. If I can find a way to get just a couple high DA links to them it will help a ton.
