Best ways to advertise locally?

I recently started a greenhouse installation service to sell and install complete greenhouses for gardening. The problem is that because of the bulkiness of the product I can only operate in Ontario where this business is based. What are some good promotional meathods for getting to people interested in this type of product within my geographical area?

Your premise is wrong. It is an enormous, unprofitable effort...to try to get people interested.

You want to find the people that are already interested.

Do you have the Home and Garden Channel in Ontario? That may be a start.

Get a list of gardeners in your area. Mailing list companies should be able to help you.

Only advertise to people that could potentially buy. Gardeners.

This is based on marketing know how. I have no knowledge of gardening or greenhouses.

Hi Claude I think you misread the OP.
He said "for getting to people interested"
      not getting them interested.

Also from Ontario here, freezing in the snow lol

Do the obvious. Make sure if someone searches for greenhouses, greenhouse installations etc.. that you appear in front of them via pay per click, local classifieds etc...

Back that up with a killer site, video, ebook, responder and fast response to questions. Could even build an online quote generator that really simply captures their info for a follow up.

Given the margins in this you should be able to drop 10k to get it all setup and budget 2 to 4k a month for ads/management and absolutely rock it.
