This is the offline thread, though... I do generate offline traffic online.

The best guidance I can offer for affiliate marketing is to actually buy/use what you're selling and believe in the product/service.

Also, it's not a get rich quick path (though, a lot of people will make you believe it is), it takes work so treat it like a business.

Though this is a forum meant for offline marketing, I'd still give you a piece of advice when it comes to affiliate marketing. What you need to do is to put your target audience first. You need to consider whom you serve or whom you should talk to and in most cases it would be your potential clients.

You should put the right product for your audience, if not, you would most likely fail. You should also know your audience first and know what category or niche they should belong.

Affiliate marketing like most any marketing.. there are 3 basic elements. there is traffic, a pitch and a sale.

There are umpteen thousands of variations for this most basic principle.

Traffic: regardless of how you get it, what you pay for it, or you don't pay for it, it ALL comes down to targeting. Putting the right people with the right motivation in front of your offer. If I am selling a weight loss plan for post pregnant women.. getting men to the page more than likely will not help me much.

The Pitch: Most often this comes in the form of a landing page. How and what this page looks like and says is dependent on the sales page. You will want to look at the products sales page, and basically set that page up. In sales terms this would be called Pre-Qualifying. Using the example above... Just had a baby and wanting to shed a few pounds? Read this report on how to blah blah blah... then send them to the "offer" ( sales page )

The Sale: this is the part that you usually do not have control over. I personally find the success in this process is looking at how the Author of the product wrote up their pitch page. Generally speaking these people will have tested the success of this stuff,so the better you can replicate the Pitch.. the better your sales will be.

        That's the basics anyways!

        Hope that Helps!

It takes a lot more than just placing a few banner ads these days to succeed with affiliate marketing. The bottom line is providing valuable information and helping people get what they want before they’ll reward you with a click and a commission.

Create a limited time free site membership offer on a squeeze page, that is relevant to the market you want to target, and build a targeted email list with it (perpetually). Then create a relevant email sequence, via auto responders that sends people back to your website a couple of times per week to read free articles on their subject of interest that include links your affiliate offers.

For instance; had the line in blue (above) been an actual affiliate link to some kind of membership site software, you probably would have clicked it, even though I didn't ask you to click. That's how it works. That's how you interweave affiliate links into relevant interesting content and get people to click on your affiliate offers.

Content is king with affiliate marketing. You just need a lot of interesting content , and a lot of people who are interested in that type of content to read it regularly. Aim the content at indoctrinating people to feel the need or desire for whatever products you are linking to, without actually giving them a sales pitch.

Eventually, your main job will be driving people to your squeeze page, and your auto-responder series does the rest, once the groundwork is laid.

This is the Offline forum though

    Hey smrasheed,

Here are some tips on affiliate marketing I hope help you.

Create or buy a giveaway (eBook or video course), there are plenty of PLR products you can buy so you don't have to create a giveaway.

Get familiar with Autoresponders (Get Response, Aweber, Mailchimp) and follow up emails

Split test (used different sales copy, landing pages or even emails) to see if one thing has a higher CTR (click thru rate) than something else.

This is a good start for you if you're a noob, watch tons of YouTube videos and download a few free WSOs or eBooks from other internet marketers and find consistencies. You will see that building a list is key, don't rely so much on ranking your site as much as you do on creating your own traffic with a list.

    Hope this helps

From my experience, Social media has made it a lot easier for me to make some extra cash through affiliate programs. Don't get me wrong sometimes it depends on the affiliate program you are promoting for, You can't promote pet accessories to people who don't own or care for pets right. Find out what your followers, family and friends are really interested in and just introduce those products to them via social media. Honesty is the best policy so don't sell to them instead let them know that they can now purchase items or join websites while at the same time help you get back on your feet by doing so. For example; if you are part of Amazon's affiliate program just inform all of your closest friends and all family members that by going through your link you will receive a commission on everything they purchase and they will still be paying the same price for whatever they purchase. If they are really your friends they will now purchase through your link. There should be no reason why you can't make money via your online or offline efforts if you did this, and let's face it we are all on social media and on Amazon these days.
Everybody might have their own strategies but this is just one that I use and is very consistent for me.

    Hope this helped... Good Luck.
