Cold Calling - Churn and Burn

I see this method getting a lot of hate around this forum. I know there is a low success rate, but it works. And it's great for starters who doesn't have money to start a business. If your willing to put the work and numbers I'm sure you will have success at it.

      In the past, yes, but times have changed. I'm looking to get back into it now that I have some useful tools like MR and read some interesting stuff from an WSO I recently brought from iAmNameless (which if your interested into starting a business around this stuff then I greatly recommend checking it out). What was the success rate you had if you mind telling us?

    Have you ever tried Voice Mail Broadcasting (by phone)?

    There are some super-cheap, reliable companies out there that allow you to automate your out-bound phone messages for a few pennies per minute, or even for 30-seconds.

    You would first need to load your phone numbers (leads) into the system ... and then upload your recorded message ... and then the system will call your leads and automate everything for you.

    It's much easier than cold calling.

    I'm curious about your success rate myself. I did a lot of cold calling and direct sales in the past It worked well but these were usually for major companies.

    I'll likely at least try it.

    @LifeisGood - Do you have a good company in mind for Voice Mail Broadcasting? I can imagine a good ROI with this type of service. Also if you don't mind, does this work by placing a call until VM or a roundabout fashion to just leave the VM?

    You could call and if you can sound ok and clear on the phone with a good script, then even the most basic machine gunning of a random list of businesses will get you sales.

    If there is any ''hate'', or criticism, it's when it's touted as the only thing you need and the best solution for everyone.

    Say you could get 2 sales next with cold calling a random list.

    If you reinvested some money in buying a list from a broker with the attributes of your ideal buyers, you'll probably double your sales at least going forward. If you made $100,000 a year with brute force cold calling, you'd make $200,000 for a small change.

    If you bought an email list of ideal targets and emailed 500 a day with a good, proven email that generates high responses from interested people at around 50% response rates, you'd be calling people who have already put their hand up and your sales figures will be much better. Seriously, much, much better.

    If you ran a facebook ad campaign or direct mail campaign or leaflet drop and bought in 1000 leads into your funnel and was now phoning the highly qualified leads and handling incoming calls too, you'd improve your sales even more.

    There are many different ways that are better, faster, yield better leads and can get your figures up to 10-20 sales for every hundred people you get to speak to.

    People criticise the type of cold calling that will have you calling 2-300 people to get one or two sales, the hard, long way, because that's often taught to every newcomer here as if everything else is a waste of time. When in fact, doing those things can greatly amplify your sales figures, once you get the systems right.

    Always split test your cold calls.

    This trial and error process is how you develop your key talk track and greatly improve your success rates.

    Just like anything in life, your first attempt will be your worst attempt. As you keep doing it and learn what and what doesn't work you will find that your success rate greatly increases.

    Just keep at it and you will do fine with it.

      Tree services tend to like video, same with carpet cleaning companies. My favorite though, roofing companies, HVAC contractors, and landscapers.
