Legal article writer for client

Hey,

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, I am taking a guess here.

I basically am talking to 2 attorney offices right now for some SEO. My issue is that I need to find an article writer that is 100% confident to write in legal matters and help me create content for them.

This content is going to be designed to attract high quality links, so I have NO need for a typical article writer that "knows about" the law...I need a true expert that can write compelling and great content.

If you've never had an attorney mad at you before I can tell you I am not in the mood to deal with it if I deliver them some garbage article.

Do any of you have law clients that you get content created for, and if so where? There are a few legal article writing services online, but honestly their samples look pretty mediocre to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Wally

I am in discussions with a lawyer. It's not for SEO services but for building content that he can use on his web site. He has the world's worst web site so just putting his lunch receipt there would give him better SEO than he gets now.
I'm setting up a webinar where I interview him, asking a number of questions that he himself prepared. I gave him the root: What are the top 5 concerns? What is the best? What problem could then happen?
When the webinar is done, I'll transcribe it into article(s). It's his content so he shouldn't have any issue, as far as I can tell.

I don't know of any such writer.

But it occurs to me that a law school has students advanced enough that they can know the content well. Some of them might be good writers. Some of them might have or be pursuing a degree in Journalism or Fiction writing at the same time.

Perhaps placing an ad in the school paper requesting applications from advanced law students with journalism background (send a sample) might be the way to go.

      Hi there,

You'd be surprised. Many of them couldn't write to save their lives. The quality of legal writing has diminished dramatically in the last 10 years. We have several clients who are in the legal services business so we see this first hand.

Having said that - hold a writing competition for law students. You'll need to pick topics in the niche your law firm specializes in - for example if they handle estates, you spread the word at the local law school that you're looking for a 1500 essay on estate law mistakes made by regular people. Make the entries your IP once submitted and give a certificate (50 pence) at the end to the one you think is the best - or better still have the attorneys you represent do the picking or potentially offer an internship as a prize.

We did this a few years back to put together a brochure and it worked a charm. We need to do it again for another client so that's for the reminder!

      All the best,

      Sasha.

I know. That's why I suggested they go for future attorney with journalism and other writing degree/major and ask for samples.

I get newsletters from a couple of attorneys I've met at some event or other. One of them has never heard of paragraphs!

His target audience is not PD D's in English literature, yet they'd almost need that and at least one hour to figure out what he's trying to say in one 500-word article.

The others are not much better. They can't seem to understand that what's obvious to them might not be obvious to others, that the point of writing an article is get someone, a reader, be able to read and understand the words, the sentences, the whole thing.

But I also know attorneys who can write. Don't know of any other way of sorting them out than looking at a sample or two.
