Unbelievable...how low can you go?

Having been on the "regular" marketing board for a little bit yesterday I feel like i need to be decontaminated

Oh..want to hear one of the best ? A lazy woman who has failed at IM over the years..really did not try much....wants to know why craigslist is pulling her ads...well it is because she is running a ponzi scheme....a "crowdfunding ponzi scheme"

this is shameful

I don't go up there often, and 99% of what's there is not something I can engage with. I look at the questions and go, "OMG, you are SO FAR OFF...it's just not going to happen for you."

"How do I make a million dollars instantly?"

"How long will it take before I am rich?"

    "What's working?"
    (my personal fave)

What's working is WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO.

How long will it take? Longer than you think, but frankly if you wouldn't hop from thing to thing every three days, you'd get there a lot faster.

A million dollars? Not many people here could tell you that. But the real answer is: likely very slowly.

It's astonishing to me how many people don't really learn anything over the YEARS...and keep jumping on the next "get rich quick" lie...instead of learning real skills they can consistently use over the rest of their life to make money and build something.

Looks like I had my "seasoned Lock" key down heh heh (the Off Topic forum-goers will get that)

      In their defense.

They are sold by many people on here offering to grow a list by +10,000 in a month and make $10,000 in only 30 days or less with a guarantee

      See what happens there?

It astounds me as well. I remember talking to guys with "20 years sales experience", that hadn't learned anything new after the first month.

      Everyone according to their gifts.

Every once-in-a-great-blue-moon it seems someone with a brain will come along and post in the main forum. Though, it's far and few between.

Jason, I see those questions all the time there. And, it seems they ask the, "How can I make $1,000,000 right now" and then vanish off to thin air.

Place all of these people in an age category and what do you have? Millennials!!!!!! You are probably gen X or Y and you simply don't get it. I understand.. But you cant get bent about it. you need to start looking at this stuff as a education in how to communicate and sell to these folks in your offline business.

Probably the hardest group for me to sell to face to face. The look of "Are you F ing Kidding Me" I just cant get it off my face.

I can type "Like a Boss" all day long. I can say it to my kids. I just cant muster that aspect of communication in a sales pitch LOL. Its just counter intuitive.. it goes against every amount of Gen X in me to talk about the asthetics and what's in it for them to such a level it hurts. I could cry sometimes. But they are the ones with the cash. they are the future and I need to learn to sell them LIKE A BOSS! stop being a Betty and start being a Billy! BILLY F YEAH! LIKE A BOSS!

and if you don't get what I just said young jedi... you better start watching a bunch of youtube til you go numb!

Is it any more shameful than how many marketers focus on making as many sales as possible, and thinking of saying whatever is necessary to make sales, rather than putting people first, and focusing on helping them?

I don't see how that relates.

If you are selling a legit product you should sell it.

I am not Mother Theresa but I will say this - I would not push "forex" or "binary options"
or a "help the crowd Ponzi" deal

The fact is that many of these people are selling nothing but air and dreams to people addicted the same way an addict is addicted

Some people did the same but they did it big time - Trudeau, William McCorkle, - they went to prison.

These "gurus" are too small time and too low down for that....they are only "famous" on these boards and in the world of opp seekers. I just saw one sitting at his "desk" in a tee shirt and gimme cap and his "desk" was a folding table like you might use at a picnic
His "logo" for this cookie cutter sell ya sell ya site was the logo for the wp theme he used LOL

I have a bit different take. The reason why is kind of weird but it's relatable to my point I think.

At 17-18yrs old I worked lawn maintenance and boat detailing here in South Florida (it's incredibly hot most of the year).

Both of those jobs paid me very well because:

    1. I showed up learned what the boss wanted done and did the damn work.
    2. I started to buy my own tools and invested in additional ones as I progressed.

In the end, I was earning $30/hr at 17yrs old doing boat detailing and being sent off with my own crew each day on different yachts to detail (this was early 1990's). Lawn maintenance was similar, I had my own truck so they gave me a trailer filled with equipment (at 18yrs old) and making even more than my detailing gig.

I would jump between gigs because they would fight for me.

    Okay... my point:

I am just fine with the outrageous stuff that floats around this place. I am agnostic to the emotional hits some promotion, wso or program emits --- it's just dumb. BUT.... that doesn't mean I will discount the actual material. I am not sympathetic to those who claim victimhood because I know that the vast majority of people are simply unwilling to do:

    1. Show up, learn and then do the damn work.
    2. Seek out other, related information to progress
    3. Implement what is learned, determine results, re-work and re-implement.
