How to find Networking groups?

I'm looking to find some quality networking groups to join. I've had a few business owners tell me about some of the ones they're a part of but they were outside of my city. Something that isn't the typical BNI/Chamber of Commerce group where there's a million "Social media experts" and everyone is pitching business cards all night.

I've found a couple local ones that seem to be higher quality and referral based but ideally I'd like to find a few more, doesn't matter if they charge a members fee.. I think that's a good filter for high quality individuals.

Any help for how to find these groups would be awesome.

I'd suggest calling a few real estate agents, lawyers, accountants, financial planners etc and asking them whether they are members of a "leads" club or if they can recommend any networking groups.

You could always use the approach of I'm always being asked about other businesses I can recommend to my clients but because (insert reason here) I don't have the connections in my neighbourhood and I'd like to refer business if there was a good networking group I could join.

Locally,we e a Business Journal that lists 30-40 networking events every month..

Try your closest Chamber of Commerce,..

Try googling Meetup.com...you should find several there.

      Good luck!

    I've found networking groups
    From meetup.com
Put in networking or business professionals
My first meetup was amazing ! Included free drinks and food, and met soooooo many great entrepreneurs!
Other than that I have not found great success via, Facebook. Too many POST LINKS , and not enough interaction !

Do a little digging around on LinkedIn for business groups you are interested in.

Many of them have industry specific meetings monthly or quarterly.

Just make sure they are agreeable to have you attend their meetings, instead of being a party crasher.
