Hi there warriors,

After talking with a friend who does window washing as a side business, I thought about dipping my toes in the lead generation business. I'm pretty good with SEO and the likes, so that part should be fairly easy.

My ultimate goal - to build a hands-off business model (if possible) so I can run my business at the same time. But I'm stuck with how this should work.

I told my friend I could build a site, rank it and then send them the leads for his area for $10/lead. He agreed and said that was cheap for him.

I'm just confused about the process.
My idea was to make it as hands off as possible so I would take the lead, send off to business serving the area and then bill them every month for leads received.

A friend is paying $25 a lead in the car business and he says its worth it for him...

I just want to dip my toes in this and learn! Any advice would be appreciated!

Chantal

    Well...for ten bucks I would....

put a refer link on my facebook, or personal website...with a special "discount" or extra goodie when people say "I" sent them

maybe get some cheap referral cards printed with my name and his biz or let him print them for me
again my name a special "me only" offer

    (for tracking purposes)

I would give out or leave out some of these cards when out and about and at netoworking events

also send an eblast to my own lists with casual "Hey my friend is great, tell them I sent u for xx deal"

and ...honestly that is it....JMO it is not worth building a local site, ranking it, worrying about lead tracking, paying for a call tracking service for $10 a pop

Now..I am sure people who sell these "reports" will jump in and tell you different but I am not trying to sell u anything...and yes I have /do get referral fees and perks on things....but I sure don't count on it

The only way I know of to make it hands off is to hire a VA to screen the calls.
I would build everything out and charge $200/month. I personally, don't like the PPL model. Been there, done that.
Then, the calls still need to be screened on a weekly basis. Why? "Marketers"/"Sales Reps" will be cold calling the biz to pitch products. Someone will need to go through the calls and block the sales numbers.

Use CallFire and setup an IVR to process calls! It's like an automated VA if you set it up correctly.

Well....yes you can do all of this but for what? $10 a pop in a field that is very limited?
Many shopping centers have their own window washer, some biz do it themselves, or are already hooked up with one...

It is not booming field and IMHO if you are going to do all this work it should be for something that is more lucrative

Not to mention - how many new jobs can this one guy take on? Will he reject jobs "across town"? Most of this type worker has a set schedule, does the same places in rotation

The cost of callfire alone will eat into the profit

better to go with callrail - it is only $30 a month (I am not freebiequeen for nothing LOL)

Car insurance, dentists and other offline guys will pay you big bucks for generating leads and it will be totally hands-off process for you as well, you just need to know how to generate the traffic!

You could use CPA sites like offervault.com for example which have a tons of affiliates who are ready to send you crazy amounts of leads for a fixed price. And you should be able to find many who will send them to you at a way lower price then your friend is willing to pay, and of course you keep the difference.

A few tools that would help:
    - Lead pages
    - Aweber or Getresponse
    (autoresponder)

Those would be used to capture and store your leads, as for the cpa networks you would likely have to call to set your daily budget because they can realistically send you 10000+ leads a day but it would cost a small fortune.

Another thing to make sure you do is to set confirm opt in on your autoresponder so that you know they are real people, high quality and highly targeted and you only pay when leads confirm. But once everything is up and running and you work your numbers out and this could be extremely hands off with minimal maintenance.

    To your success

If you know how to do it, you could be very valuable to a lot of small businesses. They're always looking for fresh leads.
