Where to get Book Printed?

I am about to finish up co-authoring a book.

We will be distributing the book through alternative channels. So far a bank and a good size P&C Insurance agency. We need about 1,000 books printed for this run to give to our partners.

The book is very short, 15,000 words. Obviously the cheaper the cost to print the book the more options for distribution that will be feasible. Can anyone recommend a printer?

    Go here;

    Fast printing. Great prices, and you get a quote online.

    1,000 books is a short run. This is a short run book printer.

      I second Claude's choice... I've used 48hrbooks.com since 2005, they had
      the best prices, service, and the quality is kick ass. I don't use them as much
      anymore, since I don't sell as many printed books, but they were my #1 choice.

      The color and quality of the paperback is better than a lot of books I see
      on the book store stands.

      Thanks for the information. After getting a quote from a local printer I knew there had to be a cheaper alternative. 48hr Books quote was a lot cheaper.

        If you want to get even cheaper prices, check out print companies in China with broker offices in the States. You will not find cheaper printing costs than going this route.

          Sounds interesting. But for the number of books I need, I doubt China is much of an option.

    LuLu.com and Amazon's CreateSpace are two more alternatives, although they specialize in POD (print-on-demand) manufacturing

      Yeah I thought of them at first but since I have two deals going for distribution I know I can print at least a 1,000 up front without losing money.
