"Back To The Future In Business or Forward To History?"

Today, I wanted to talk about something you may find interesting and profitable. Is that alright with you?

I thought so.

I'm sure you hear the buzz all around us about how electric cars are the smart way to go and the "future". The funny thing is, the electric car is actually from the past, not the future.

In 1828 a Hungarian man invented the first electric car. Now why am I telling you this?

Simply because it's amazing that we have had this technology for over 187 years and yet it seems new to most of us. Here's where it gets more interesting...

Fast forward to 1990 and ford begins their production of an electric pick up truck.

However, due to costs and charging of the battery issues, they stopped production. Now 20 years later the electric car rises again.

What in the world does this have to do with your business?

Glad you asked. It's simple really...

We all have things that we have done and then decided it probably doesn't work and moved on to something else. But...

How many of those things could of really been a major advancement in your business, but you decided to stop doing it because it's was expensive or maybe didn't work out 100% correctly the first time and so on?

It all comes back to testing and persistence.

Many car makers over the last 187 years could of easily been way ahead of the "electric car trend", but decided because of others failing at something or them failing at that time... meant it couldn't be done by them or not possible at all.

Imagine how far you could be ahead if you only tried something one or two more times or even if you decided to make something work no matter what?

Now I'm not saying if something doesn't work, keep doing it.

What I am saying is don't give up on something just because others failed or just because it didn't work out for you at first. We'll talk again soon, so...

I leave you with a classic story about Thomas Edison and it may drive the point of this whole newsletter today home...

The story goes that "Thomas Edison failed more than 1,000 times when trying to create the light bulb". When asked about it, Edison allegedly said, "I have not failed 1,000 times. I have successfully discovered 1,000 ways to NOT make a light bulb."

Now Go Take Action...
