Do Small/Local Business Owners Buy Information Products

Hello Everyone:

I'm curious as to what your experience with this has been.

Have you found Small/Local Business owners receptive to buying information products?

Specifically training on "marketing".

I've heard both sides of the argument over the years.

Some say, no...they're interested in making more money and too busy for information products teaching them how to market their business.

On the other hand, I've heard that the "Ma and Pa' market is ideal since they don't really have or desire to invest in consultancy.

I've also heard that those that actually come to webinars are predisposed to buying products in the $97 to $197 range (depending on the value they provide).

I have purely selfish reasons for asking.

    YES!

But as for information products, it is better to create a training program that targets a specific niche like dentists, lawyers etc.

    There are three models here:

Coaching - I Teach You Do!
Consulting - I Teach, We Do Together
Information products - I Teach and I don't care if you implement or not.

The easiest to sell is CONSULTING, Coaching and information products, in that order.

If you can provide results to business owners, they will NEVER let you go!

    NEVER!

Regardless of how you provide results, it can be consulting or info products.

Dan Kennedy's and the people who've bought him out have been raking in nice chunks of money for years doing just what you do.

Their model: offer free, quality marketing material in exchange for joining a list. Then sell to the list... higher and higher priced items...

$0 gets you to buy something between $5 and $50. $5 and $50 gets you to buy something between $190 and a couple of thousands $190 gets you to buys something in the 400-600 range to a couple of thousands...

You need to identify the ones who're likely to buy and have something they really want.

Maybe you'll do a survey... Maybe you already know based on your current clients...

People buy information if they think implementing them will help them... then, they don't implement... So, they buy more... Study Kennedy, Eben Pagan, Proctor...

I have sold well over 100 of my Offline Consultants Marketing Course to Business Owners. I sometimes include some one on one consulting for additional cost.
